I first became familiar with Heidi’s work on Instagram @fabricmutt. All her makes are so fresh and original. I couldn’t wait for the release of her new book and it doesn’t disappoint!The author literally takes you on a sewing adventure without having to leave the comfort of your home. Her book is a suitcase packed with inspiration and fun projects for all sewing skill levels. The book is beautifully designed and illustrated. Like most quilting books she starts her sewing journey noting tools that you’ll need for the ride to avoid any bumps in the road! Before moving onto her 24 lovely projects she explains and gives many wonderful examples of how she chooses her fabrics. This in my opinion is one of Heidi’s greatest gifts as a sewist is her natural ability to mix and match prints! For me this section was most helpful and enlightening! Also, I love how she organizes her projects starting with quick makes you can do in a weekend to longer more involved projects. Her instructions and illustrations are very clear and concise!Towards the end of the road, so to speak, she gives ideas of how to personalize and share your sewing journey projects with others for gifting at retreats, swaps, parties and such! Of course, no road trip would be complete without some goodies and a playlist to take along for the ride which, Heidi, of course, includes! Enjoy and Happy Trails!

The author presents us with 22 separate patchwork projects that give us short, medium or longer getaways. She illustrates each step of the Daytrips, Weekend Getaways, and Summer Vacations with step-by-step instructions and beautiful illustrations. Beginners will find projects to do and enjoy the journey; more advanced sewists will find challenging projects that they'll be very proud to share with family and friends. Ms. Staples encourages the reader all the way through the process of selecting and arranging colors and prints, and suggests many uses for the various finished works... including some handy Vacation ones!

I love this book! Even if I didn't want to make any of the projects, which I do (all of them), I would still love it. The way it is written and the tips, photos, stories, and quotes are all just lovely. A must have for sewists.

Several small projects, but what makes them magic is the author's use of color and design.

This book starts with basics...what you should have for hand sewing, what patterns in fabric go together and how to “marry” them, and instructions for projects are easy to follow.

Excellent book. Well-written and illustrated! Easy to follow. I bought several as gifts and my friends loved the book too. Can hardly wait until Heidi writes her next book!

Full of fun, modern and easy projects.

I've bought quite a lot of these kinds of books over the years and I either make one project and then forget about it or don't make anything at all. So far I've made three projects from this book and I still want to make more! Anyone who's familiar with Heidi's Fabric Mutt blog will know these projects are going to be cute and a bit retro, a bit japanese inspired and a bit vintage Americana. If you enjoyed Patchwork Please! by Ayumi Takahashi, you'll probably enjoy this book too.
