Hape Brave Little Engine

My twins love this train. They first got into playing with wooden train tracks around 18 months. Now that they are closer to two years old they adore this train and love putting it on the tracks. It is even great off the tracks and has taken many trips from one side of the house to the other. It can pull other heavier wooden train cars, and we have been impressed by its ability to go up steep slopes! The battery life is impressive (as long as you turn it off so its not left stuck chugging along under your couch.)

This little battery-powered train engine is so cute! But it is also very sturdy and strong, pulling four train cars behind it over track overpasses. Our toddler grandchildren love watching it move along the tracks and even the one year old knows how to push the button to turn it on and off. It works on all our wooden train tracks and is quite quiet when running. We are finding it is a fun, affordable addition to our train play.

this is my fav of the trains we have. it is the safest for kids that like to do weird things with their toys. the wheel cah a clutch so it will NOT just eat skin and hair. its rather fast too! i think this is our fastest train in this size/battery.. carries quite a load as well. will pull all my sons trains and is a solid choice. highly suggested.

Great train engine. Can pull many cars even up hill. If it’s over loaded it will go up on just its back wheels but my son will gently help it out. Seems durable. Has provided hours of fun already and we haven’t had to replace the battery yet. Speed is good too. Faster than the others we have.

This little battery operated train is so much fun! It has an easy on off button that is simple to operate for little hands, and it helps encourage play because it’s so fun to watch it go. The colors are bright and cheerful, it operates on most wooden tracks, and you can even attach more trains to it due to the magnets. Highly recommend adding this to your train collection!

This little engine moves decently, but it does not stay on the track. It derails not only on switch pieces, but also on curves and even on straight tracks. It did not make it around a simple loop even one time before leaving the track and heading across the floor. Surprisingly, it was able to climb up over a track and get down the other side and continue along the floor, so if you are looking for an all-terrain engine, you might give this a try. It also wasn't able to make it up a train track hill. We tested the engine alone and pulling another car, and neither worked well for hills or staying on the track. We do have a variety of wooden track brands (Thomas, Brio, Ikea, Melissa & Doug) so it is possible that this engine is meant to work only on one type of train track? I am returning it and trying a different brand.

Works as advertised. A bit on the slower side, but I think that is to be expected in order for it to be stable on a wooden track. Works on our Melissa and Doug wood track, and can carry a bunch of cars with it. Battery compartment is very secure, screwed in, AAA batteries.

Onze kleinzoon is er weg van en opa en oma ook. Hij ziet er leuk uit en heeft een enorme power. Hij trekt met gemak 6 wagonnetjes voort. Super dingetje, ik ga er nog een bestellen :)

Such a great addition to a train set for pre schoolers! So fun.

My 2 year old granddaughter loves this, it’s easy to turn on and off. Run great on the Brio train track and also grandads tummy and chest :) :). Clicks away when be held tight but runs okay once let free. Very pleased with it.
