KOHLER 6639-ST Whitehaven Bottom Basin Rack, Steel Sink Racks for 36" Whitehaven Sink, Includes Left and Right Racks, Stainless Steel

I purchased this because I noticed that my friend had one at her house and thought that it might help me protect my cast iron sink. My Kohler Whitehaven Hayridge 36" sink already has 2 nicks in it and my black carbon steel pans also leave black streaks on the white surface. I was concerned at first that this was not going to fit my sink since it was really made to fit the 35" Whitehaven series. The Hayridge series is the biggest cast iron that Kohler makes. It is distinguishable from the other models by the ridges in the apron front. Well.....I decided to purchase it and try it out.....and by golly, it fit perfectly. Installation was a no brainer, so I don't know why so many people had difficulty with the 2 separate racks lining up. The racks are made with varying feet heights to accommodate the slight slop of the sink. So of course if you put the 2 pieces together backwards then they won't sit flushed against each other at the middle seem. Kind of a no brainer. I like that the the rack comes in 2 smaller pieces, making it much easier to clean. I can either throw it in the dishwasher at night or if I decide to hand wash it, it can fit without much fuss on the drying rack. I don't see the downside of having the holes in the rack a little larger and farther apart either. This helps to prevent food debris from getting caught in the holes. Overall, I have been delighted with my purchase and would recommend that anyone who installs a new cast iron sink to invest in one of these babies right away.

I only took a star off the "easy to clean" section is because no matter what I have tried, the feet develop mold/mildew that I cannot seem to clean (I've bleach soaked, scrubbed with firm brush and abrasive cleaner, boiled etc...). The actual stainless rack(s) fit perfectly in our sink, are super sturdy, lay flat and flush, and protect the sink while making rinsing things so much easier. Truly a great addition.

I decided to purchase the name brand rack to match the sink because it was dishwasher safe-which has proven to be true. I don’t know that the brand name makes it superior, though. It was quite expensive for what it does. The racks are two separate pieces to accommodate a dishwasher and they sit very level next to each other. It has protected the sink from scratches and stains. I like that it is shaped for the offset drain.

We absolutely love our new kohler sink and wanted to protect it. So these are the ticket. After reading reviews about the rubber feet leaving stains etc. I just remove them once a week and after washing some pots and pans I use the soap and water in the sink to clean under them. Easy Peasy. Some complaints were how the silver wear falls between them. I turn the silver wear the other direction or put them in one of the pots or pans. No issues whatsoever ever. best purchase I made to protect our sweet sink

Fit perfectly but was very high in price

We remodeled our kitchen this summer and put in the Kohler apron front cast iron sink in white. We were replacing a white Kohler cast iron sink that was quite old (it came with the house when we bought it 9 years ago). Pots and pans were always marking the sink bottom…so much so that we really debated putting in another white cast iron sink. But it was such a work horse otherwise, and it fit the design of our kitchen, so this rack was the perfect solution. It has been in use for several months now and has been incredible at protecting the floor of our sink. It's expensive and was actually out of stock for several months, but it became available just as our kitchen remodel was wrapping up and I can't see myself ever using the sink without this protection in place. No mold or mildew. Racks are dishwasher safe and I've run them through the dishwasher several times. I like that the rack is in two pieces. Makes it much easier to maneuver with fitting them into the dishwasher and with a quick clean of the sink itself while doing dishes. The rack is expensive, but the sink was a major investment that I want to protect. I'm also cleaning it with Kohler's proprietary product because I hope to protect the finish of the cast iron as long as possible.

This rack works better than I anticipated. This farm sink is very large - and this rack not only protects glass items from shattering (glass vs cast iron sink - sink wins every time!), but also can be used to set dishes to dry. Gorgeous set up - just one comment: the sink bottom is not flat (incline to have water drain) - smart setup and that is why the feet on this are different heights. Sooo smart - the feet on this rack are set up so the rack lies flat (short feet farthest from drain when setting up). Brilliant - love it. Also, Amazon has the best price :)

We purchased this to fit our new Kohler farmhouse sink and it fits beautifully. It even allows a bit of space around the perimeter so it won't scratch the sink. I like the white rubber feet that compliment the white ceramic sink. It's very sturdy but lightweight for easy lifting to clean loose food from underneath it.
