I like it
I think I may be the first person to review the Elago S4 Slim Fit 2. There are many reviews for the original Slim Fit, and this product is probably very similar, so if you are considering the Slim Fit 2, you should also read the reviews for the original Slim Fit.These were my objectives when considering this case:1. I wanted a case that would prevent scratches on the back and sides. I already have a Zagg InvisibleShield on the front, so I was just looking for something to protect the rest.2. I wanted a case that provided full access to the buttons, and didn't interfere with the flash.3. I wanted it as light and thin as possible.4. I wanted a slightly better grip than the slippery iPhone glass.5. I did NOT care about full droppage protection. This is a phone provided by work, and I am careful with phones.I would say that this phone met all of these criteria. The fit was perfect, it snapped into place firmly, but it's not so tight that it is difficult to remove or that it would cause damage to the phone itself. This was one of the complaints about the original Slim Fit, but mine doesn't seem to be that tight. But certainly tight enough that there is absolutely no chance of the phone slipping out. It's definitely light, and it's hard to imagine a case being thinner than this, because it really is just molded plastic. Any thinner and I assume you'd have structural issues during shipping.I chose the Slim Fit 2 over the original Slim Fit for two reasons: (1) I wasn't crazy about the big hole in the middle of the original Slim Fit to allow the Apple logo to show through, especially when reviews claimed it didn't even line up correctly, and (2) I figured if it was the second version, they must have made some improvements in the quality. The case is advertised as "semi-gloss". Mine doesn't seem to be very glossy, in fact I would classify it as pretty flat in terms of the color. This probably helps to hide fingerprints as well as scratches, but it's probably less "elegant" looking as the original Slim Fit with a glossy finish.I chose the vanilla color because it's unique, and the color itself looks like the picture, perhaps a bit lighter. I figured a lighter color would also help to hide fingerprints and smudges. All in all, I'm happy with the color, but color is a personal choice. As other reviews of the original Slim Fit have mentioned, this case may not protect your phone against a hard drop as well as some of the others on the market. But, if what you are really interested in is a case that almost seems like it's not even there, and doesn't substantially change the size and weight of your iPhone, then this is one you should definitely consider. Overall, my initial reaction is that I'm happy with the case, and I think it will work well for me.

Good low-profile case, but with a flaw...
I really like the feel and size of this case––it's a hard shell, but has a matte-like touch to it. It is halfway between a glossy finish and gripped, textured one.My main gripe is that when installed on the iPhone 4, the corners of this case are virtually flush with its glass surface. So in reality, if the phone is dropped on its corner from any height more than a couple feet onto a hard surface, it would be hard to imagine that the screen wouldn't fracture. I believe that Elago's sister case for the iPhone 5 has an edge that goes around the corners of the phone and raises up very slightly (approx. 1/16 inch past flush) over the glass surface. It makes the phone's overall edge profile slightly thicker, but this is a nice feature because it would greatly decrease the chance of shattering your iPhone's screen on such a drop. If the S4 had this raised edge, I would give it 5 stars. In my opinion, your selection of a cell phone case should take into account two non-aesthetic criteria: Your day-to-day work and your clumsiness. I have 2 other iPhone 4 cases including an Otterbox Defender, but for now–even acknowledging the shatter risk–the Elago S4 is the case I am currently using. I'm a guy, and like most guys I know, I carry my phone in my front pant pocket. A thick phone case is kind of a drag, in my book. Since I'm pretty sure-handed and I am not in the construction industry anymore, I value the slimness of this case (and its aesthetics) more than I do the chunky resilience of the Otterbox. If you really value protection over simple, slim pocket convenience, go with an Otterbox or something of that ilk. The Defender is really legit; I imagine its rugged construction would protect your phone from even a 25 foot drop. But if you have a job where you don't need protection from impact, foreign elements, crushing, etc. and are very unlikely to clumsily drop your phone, then the convenience and price point of a case like this Elago might be worthwhile for you.
