What is CMC powder used for?

CMC is widely used in food products.

What is CMC raw material?

Carboxymethyl cellulose (E466) is a hydrocolloid derived from cotton or wood pulp. It is also known as CMC, cellulose, or cellulose gum.

How much CMC powder is to use?

Tylo / Tylose Powder and CMC (Carboxymethylcellulose) We would recommend around 1 teaspoon for every 500 grams of fondant.

CMC is safe to use in food production as it is not degraded or reabsorbed in humans.

How much should I use?

Add 1 teaspoon level per 250 g of melting glaze. If you need your icing to be softer, add less CMC (i.e. add 1/2 teaspoon to 250 g of melting ice).
