RADACutlery Deluxe Vegetable Peeler, Black Handle

I have a very old potato peeler that I thought worked great, but its getting kinda rusty and old looking, so I decided I would try a new peeler. I read all the reviews and this one sounded like the best to me. Everyone raved about how great it peeled, but I figured....how much of a difference can there really be in a peeler. Let me tell you, there IS a difference. It is very very easy to use. It just glides along the vegetable and takes off thinner slices than my old peeler. It just seems so much easier to use. I can't compare it to the other new peelers, but I can tell you if you have an old peeler, do yourself a favor and get a new one.I almost bought the one with the aluminum handle because it looks so pretty, but decided being able to put it in the dishwasher was more important than looks. It's bigger than I expected, but it still feels good in my hand, and my husband likes the bigger size (since he gets stuck doing most of the peeling). I'm very happy with this purchase.

This peeler stays sharp,I have had one for 10 years and it works as well still. Larger than most so it gets the job done quicker. I ordered this one for a gift.

I was searching for a sturdy peeler that allows for fast and precise peeling. This does the job well. I've used it on carrots (exceptional performance), potatoes (very good) and cucumbers (nice, super thin peels). I don't have to worry about the peeler getting "stuck" and then worrying about slicing my finger skin off. It is SUPER SHARP and on the large side, so perhaps not the best for smaller hands (i.e. kids wanting to help you cook). It has lasted us months without any hassle and cleans well (we handwash this utensil). It is a high performance peeler that has exceeded my cynical expectations.

I've used this peeler for about six months now and there is not one unflattering comment I can make. It chows through thick potato skins with ease, and pretty much anything else it peels. My wife LOVES me more now for getting it for us [her!]. She now enjoys peeling veggies w/ this peeler. I was tired of using cheap peelers, the ones where one has to peel towards you. I like peeling away from me. This is the answer. The blade is very sharp, cuts thru like butter, as well as attractive. I have Rada products but never the vegetable peeler. I was very surprised by the difference between this and my pampered chef peeler. I would highly recommend it.

My whole family loves using this peeler

I had high hopes for this peeler based on other reviews, and since my previous peeler was from the dollar bin I thought this would be a definite improvement -- and it is. It is sharp and peels potatoes well. The pointed end for taking out eyes works well. But the peeler seems large for my hand (average size hands for a 5'3" woman) and will take some getting used to. Also the slots sometimes get clogged with peels and must be cleaned out periodically during peeling. Since I think this may be due to the way I'm holding it, after I get used to this peeler I think this will not be an issue.
