Is this style compatible for lefty's? I mean, would i need to re-string them like a typical guitar?

I'm a teacher, (not an expert) but I would recommend that you try to play right-handed. Not saying it's going to easy but in the long run, you'll find it easier. If you just can't do it, then yes, you will have to reverse all the strings. It's not difficult to do.

How do I access the online courses? Just got the ukelele.

I bought a Beginning Ukelele method book ( Alfred by Daniel Ho). It includes a DVD audio and video and an access online to his method. I strongly recommend this book. Good luck.

Truly solid? How do you know?

Truly solid? Does it matter? The wood, as in most ukuleles is very thin but it's possible it could be layers or veneer of some sort. I've bought about 20 of these ukes for myself and my students and not had any issues.

Your reviews are the same for the Spruce and mahogany models with a $40 difference. Could you please explain that?

Everything is subjective and people hear and see things differently which could explain why the price difference. Also, one wood probably costs more than the other.
