Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (NY) (Images of America) Paperback – Illustrated, October 20, 2004

I had the chance to read this and speak with the author for my podcast called Shaping Opinion. It was really interesting to learn the history of the parade and what makes it so special. But it's more than a parade. There are many personalities who made it what it is today. Loved the interview, and loved the book, and you will, too.

All though the font is small as one customer complained it is a fabulous book filled with several primary sources and information about the Macy’s day parade. Several photos are in black and white but as the parade started in 1924 this was as expected! The book also has several photos of actually newspaper articles and ads. I bought it to us as a resource to teach my 4th graders about the origin of the Macy’s day parade. Although the material is above their reading level the photographs and newspaper artifacts were just what I was looking for!

Bought this for my wife. She really loves it!

A great book with great pictures and text covering the parade form its beginnings. Especially like the newspaper advertisements for the parade. I gave it only 4 stars because the text was kind of tiny to read. Some may need a magnifying glass but all in all a great book.

This is a great book that has the history of the parade and many photos of old Balloons and parade photos.Highly recommended.
