My little old dog is very picky when it comes to anything meant to clean his teeth. He hates all of the fake meat-flavored bone alternatives and toothpastes, but he loves the mint flavored Dentastix. I wish I’d found them sooner! He does have to work at eating them since he’s had several teeth pulled over the years, but he actually chews them rather than trying to swallow them whole like the green treats by another brand.Size & chew:I compared nutrition labels before buying, and these Dentastix have the highest moisture content of all the green treats I could find, which makes them a little easier to bite into than others even though they appear larger. I think the X shape, while unwieldy, also helps since he’s not having to bite through a half inch of solid treat.Effectiveness:Nothing will really help my dog’s breath at this point, because the vet wasn’t able to pull a large tooth that’s rotting in back. I will say that these treats don’t have that nasty fake meat smell, just a mild minty scent, and I think that they help clean his remaining teeth since he actually chews them.Longevity:I was worried that these might get stale since I was buying such a large quantity, but there doesn’t seem to be any decline in quality over time from what I can detect of the scent and texture. I do my best to minimize exposure to air, light, and temperature changes to keep them fresh. I prefer to break each sheet into individual sticks before storing as many as I can in a ceramic jar with a rubber gasket for quick, easy access. (You can see my dog checking out his treat jar in the pic.) I also squeeze any extra air out of the bag with the remaining treats before closing the built-in zip seal and putting it in the pantry. Maybe I’m being overly cautious, but my dog only gets one a day, and he was just as enthusiastic to eat it on day 102 as he was on day 1. I call that a win!

Teddy absolutely loves these Dentastix! He gets one every evening and looks forward to it like clockwork. Not only does he enjoy the taste, but I’ve also noticed his breath stays fresher and his teeth cleaner since we started using them. The minty smell isn’t too strong, and the size is just right for a small dog. Great value with over 100 treats per bag—we’ve bought this pack multiple times and will keep coming back!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I chose Pedigree Dentastix over the other brands because my dig loves them and they are so economical. I always buy the mint flavor for small dogs.

My dogs love these! They help with in between teeth brushing. Their mouth always smells fresh. I wait until they eat their 1st meal, and give it to them after that. They love all the flavors but the mint they love the most.

Good buy. Sometimes they are hard at first but then soften once opened.

Greenies, anyone?! That's the two words that get my dogs going crazy. I don't know what they put in these little treats but they make my dogs go wild and do tricks for me. I give them one at night as their treat and to "brush their teeth". It doesn't take my dogs a little bit to chew them down so I feel they really are getting a little cleaning while eating these. I like that they can't just swallow them whole. The treats smell really good too. More of a mint kind of smell. I think these are great for training your pup as they literally will do backflips to get their jaws on this treat. The value for the money is really good, as well.

We've been buying these for years for our dog. She loves these after she gets let out in the morning. They are easy for her to chew, and I'm guessing they taste great as she scarfs them down..

My 6-lb Yorkie loves these! They are too big for him, so I cut them in half for him. He has learned the words "Time to brush your teeth" & comes running to where I keep them. Hope they help---I can't bring myself to brush his teeth!
