Easiest way to make your house smarter and easier to use in high traffic doorways
If you have a door with a deadbolt that has plenty of traffic this is the deadbolt for you. Personal Experience: My family uses our man door on the side of our house for nearly everything, from walking the dog to going out back to taking out the trash it is the most heavily trafficked doorway. After a few instances where I was taking late night walks with the dogs and didn't want to fumble with keys in below freezing temperatures I decided to upgrade to this Z-Wave Deadbolt. Since I installed the deadbolt I have been extremely pleased with its performance. The electronic locking and unlocking features are so simple my 5/yo is able to lock/unlock while I get the dogs ready or cleaned up before going on a walk or into the garage. I also have a home hub which took less time to recognize the device than I spent physically installing the deadbolt (always a win). Having the deadbolt connect to my SmartThings Hub quickly was a huge plus because I hate spending tons of time setting up electronics that should be simple. One of the biggest benefits (IMHO) of connecting the deadbolt to my SmartThings is that I get notifications if the deadbolt is left open longer than an hour. I can also check the status of the lock before I go to bed, because if you are like me, you lay in bed unable to sleep and try to remember if you locked to door until you drag your butt out of bed to check. This unit does use batteries so just be aware that you are going to change them based on your habits, if you use the electronic features a lot you will need to swap out batteries more often. If I get 6 months of battery life based on the amount of traffic I expect than I am very pleased. Finally was the aesthetics of the product is in line with the door knob that I had so the new deadbolt did not look out of place after everything was completed. Pros: Easy to install if replacing and existing deadbolt of the same size Numbers and lock symbol are easy to read and push Connecting to SmartThings was simple and fast (and by fast I mean less than a minute) Z-Wave Plus range and response is excellent Color scheme matched the existing knobs/deadbolts I have Cons: Battery life can drained if used constantly (I see this as cost of having electronic deadbolt but being objective)

Solidly made, one year finish warranty. Works great with Alexa
Solidly made product. This was a replacement for an older combination deadbolt that had failed. The brass finish is bright and flawless, and comes with a lifetime warranty. The electronics & mechanism is covered for 1 year. Install is easy. if you have ever installed a dead bolt before, you will have no issue with this. It runs on 4 standard AA batteries, and they can be installed or replaced without having to take the lock apart. The key pad buttons are easy to see and backlit. Because its not a touch pad, finger prints don't give your code away. All motors and moving parts are on the inside so its not adversely effected by cold weather. Set up is easy, and can be programed as stand alone or with a hub. If you plan to use the lock with Alexa or the phone app you will need to get a HUB that supports Z-wave, but that can be added later on. with the hub it supports both locking and unlocking. Unlocking is secured with a household pass code. Personal codes that are entered to unlock are recorded with a time stamp in the hub so you can tell who comes in and when. Overall I a very pleased with this purchase. I plan on getting more for other entry doors

Great lock. Some initial issues setting up with Vivint
Great lock. Replaced older version same brand 888 that eventually wore out. Installed in 20 min no problem. Did have a time with getting it setup via Vivint alarm system. In the future, Suggest before installing the back part of lock to get the ZWave connection recognized by the Vivint keypad first. After some of the issues with the setup and what I learned from this install, this is what I would do next time for a VIVINT system. Call Vivint and get tech help to get into the Installer Toolbox screen - this is where you add or remove ZWave devices. Remove the old lock from the system first. Then take the back half of the new lock with the battery pack inserted up next to the Vivint keypad and add the new lock. I had to reboot my keypad after removing the original lock before it would recognize and add the new lock. Overall great lock and the last Kwikset lasted 12 years.

Works well, install was not a breeze
I consider myself quite handy so I expected the installation of this smart lock to be a piece of cake. First I had issues with the lock being very hard to turn. Found that the plastic glides inside the deadbolt shaft were binding up - fixed that. Then once I had the lock installed it would fault saying that the door was not really locked, when it was locked. Turns out that I had to drill the dead bolt hole in the door jam deeper so the lock could register that it was really locked. Did not find anything in the instructions about this. After drilling the hole about 1/2" deeper it would recognize that it was locked. Now it works and am happy with it's functionality. But watch out on the installation, it was not a simple swap out like I had hoped.

Features are great
If you are a technology buff This Locks For You. I've purchased several of the competitor's products at a higher cost for years. My new home was loaded with Kwikset locks so to stick with the same keying I purchased this one. I still have several people that need entrance to my new home. I gave everyone their own code. My smart home system notifies my smart phone of entrance and exits, and tells me who it was, and provides time stamps. The instructions for installation need some serious additions as related to left or right hand door openings. The instructions are for a door opening in and to the right from the outside. Converting it to a left opening in door took two days of playing with it. The competitor's product does a much bettor job of the different door types. I would sure buy it again.

Works with Ring!
Very easy to install (about 10 mins), Alexa instantly recognized it. Adding to ring alarm security is simple. Allows you to lock and unlock via ring as well as add users (shared and guest) with unique codes. Also allows you to disarm ring alarm when unlocked so that you don’t have to punch in the ring alarm code. You get alerts on ring wether it’s manually or electronically locked/unlocked. Smart key is simple. The set comes with two keys, you can rekey to work with your standard deadbolt and doorknob keys in less than 20 seconds.

Watch the video before installing
After spending quite some time trying to get it installed, I looked it up on YouTube and that was all it took! The short video described in better detail exactly what needed to be done to install it. After that, it only took 10 minutes to install. Pairing with my Smartthings hub was a cinch! Whatever you do, don't follow the instructions for using the mobile app. The Kwikset apps do not work with this lock! Save yourself the trouble and just use the Smartthings app to program codes for each person. Looking to take it one step further? This works perfect with Webcore! I created a script to send me a push notification each time the door is locked/unlocked to tell me who opened the door and at what time. Now, I know when my son gets home or when the cleaning lady arrives.
