Does the vacuum help by lifting the hair as it cuts .

Doesn't "lift" your hair, the guards do that. (comes with several). The vacuum works well but only on short hair. (the compartment that holds the cut hair is very small. It's a great set of clippers. I keep my head shaved with it.

Does this work with 220V outlets?

Does a remington hc5855 virtually indestructible hair clipper’s guards fit this clippers?

No these guards will not work with this clipper.

Where do you put the oil to prevent friction?

Hello, Run a tiny bit of oil across the top of the cutting blade, and a coating along the bottom. Then turn the clipper on for a couple of seconds. The oil coats and lubridates the blades before putting the unit away in storage.
