Exactly what I needed

Exactly what I needed to get my truck running again. The old one had become so corroded that I'm amazed it worked at all. The corrosion faced the axle, which made it impossible to see without removing.

Test before installing on your Escape!

Both Dorman's web site and Amazon indicated this was a match for 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid.I wasn't dealing with corrosion and cracking of the FPDM since Ford adjusted how it is mounted to avoid contacting steel to back of module (aluminum). However, symptoms (revving in reverse, infrequent stumbling on acceleration) led me to this as a possible fuel pressure issue that's cheaper and easier to deal with than the fuel pump. All other more obvious items (MAF sensor, 0xygen sensors, coils, throttle body, fuel pressure sensor) already replaced.I made the mistake of removing the old module and then going through the hassle of installing the Dorman (which is MADE IN USA...thank you). Should have tested the new unit while it dangled unattached to mounts. Ford gives little room to work with brake/AC lines running right below it and they decided to use T27 bolts...yikes.Start the vehicle, quickly craps out--dash lights like a pinball machine. Try again, same result. Double-checked Inertia Fuel Switch....no issue. Removed FPDM connector and plugged it back into original Ford FPDM (left it dangling unmounted). Escape starts up fine and stays running.Dorman's tech support is US-based, easy to reach with little/no wait time and were friendly -- confirmed there's no programming to complete (plug-n-play). Either there's a compatibility issue or a defect. I believe it's a compatibility issue with my model since almost all reviews seem to be related to F150 models.Regardless, returned to Amazon in 'like new' condition. For those worried about knock-offs....ensure you buy the unit SOLD BY & SHIPPED BY Amazon. You won't have to worry about a knock-off that could come with saving $10.Well made, good support earns 4-stars in my book. Minus 1-star for compatibility issue (or possible defect).

Great product, easy installation, don't forget the fuse if it doesn't work at first.

My father's faithful 2006 Ford Expedition started to have some minor bucking, but then seemed to go away. I am the back-yard mechanic who takes care of his oil changes and such. I already replaced the plugs at 100k miles (using the hot engine, impact wrench method which works great by the way), so I knew it was not the plugs. Perhaps it was the coils, now at 126k I suppose they would be reasonable to need replacement now. But after a couple of days later, he had the engine shut off while driving, he had it towed to my house using his AAA card.Replacing the fuel pump driver module was pretty easy for me, just lower the spare tire, find the module mounted on the driver's side frame, unbolt from outside of the frame, squeeze release of plug, pull plug, wiggle old unit out. Old unit had perforation of metal backing. I pried into the perforation with a screw driver to see how bad things were. The backing gave way and the circuit board had obvious damage and smelled badly.I put the new unit in place using the double-sided studs that came with it instead of the rubber bushings and bolts since I didn't think i could hold the bushings in place. I plugged it in, then with a big smile on my face went to start it up getting ready to hear the vroom. But, no vroom. It did not start. WHY?!After pacing back and forth up and down the driveway about 2 or 3 times (okay, maybe 10), I decided to check the fuses, maybe there were a fuse for the fuel pump that blew. Yep, #12 which is a 15A fuse. Now it made sense, the module got water in it, shorted, the fuse blew. Just changing the module was just half of the problem. The other half of the job is the fuse. Not a big deal mind you, but just needed to be done. I found the fuse panel to the right of the passenger seat floor on the side.Knowing all of that, I now could have done the whole job in about 30 minutes or less. But that fuse thing threw me for awhile. Of course now it makes sense in hindsight.Truck is great again - the only things it has needed so far were the plugs at 100k and a rear-end pinion seal which was also pretty easy. Not bad for 126k miles.

Works on a 2008 Ford f150 XLT Supercab, 5.4L 3v Triton.

I bought this to have on hand for a spare in regards to the known issue, of this module corroding on the frame.I took the Ford oem module off, and scraped off the back and cleaned it up. I primed and painted the back and siliconed a sheet of rubber on the back. I then reinstalled the original oem module with the standoffs from this Dorman module. Before I reinstalled the oem unit, I plugged in the Dorman one, and the truck started just fine. Just had to be sure it worked. Now if I need it, I have an inexpensive spare on the side.

Received a used part

The part I received had already been installed. It was dirty and we could see wear where the nut holes are. For the moment, it seems to work well but I wonder about the long term durability. It was suppose to be a new part. To be continued...

It arrived fast and is a very easy install. Truck is running good again and saved a lot of money

Had problems with my truck stalling when raining. It would generally start again after a bit, sometimes not until later/after some drying time. I ended up taking it to Ford dealer and they told me I needed this module and also a new fuel pump. The total estimate was over $1,000. I asked them how they knew the fuel pump was bad and I was told that they tested it, didn't really believe that both went bad at the same time so I told them forget it, I'll fix it myself. I ordered this module from Amazon and once it arrived I installed it in less than 30 minutes and my trucking was running good again. It cost me more to have them tell me what was wrong than it cost me to fix it myself. This happened in 2017 and my truck is still running good more than 4 years later (on the same fuel pump).

Good Value

Excellent replacement part. Mine said assembled in USA, gives confidence. Improved mounting design, known F150 corrosion issue solved. Long term results who knows but appears weld made.
