For me a "MUST HAVE" item. Keep a tank wand on hand also.
I just purchased my first travel trailer. It is a used trailer and I was very apprehensive about dealing with the septic. I purchased one of these Dual Flush units along with a tank wand and a few other items to be as prepared as I could. I found this tank rinser to be extremely useful and it made the whole process much easier to deal with. For my review I'll list the features this unit provides and how I used it on my first trip. I ended up having a clogged up system since the previous owner failed to flush properly after their last use. This unit saved me from what could have been a major issue. 1. Visibility - My septic line does not have a clear section at the outlet. This unit adds that and it's very convenient to be able to see the flow you are getting when you open your drain valves. The first indication of a clog is poor flow or a sudden drop in flow when you open your valves. This is what happened for me. After opening the valves flow began then stopped abruptly and my black tank levels never dropped below 2/3 full with valves wide open. I tried flushing with a wand through the toilet first but no luck. 2. Tank Flush - This unit lets you flush the tank from the drain outlet. I wouldn't see this as a replacement to using a wand through the toilet or built in tank rinser (if you have one) but it does have one "HUGE" benefit, you can use back pressure to clear a clog. My system was clogged and the wand wasn't clearing it. I closed the outlet valve on this unit, hooked up my water hose and set the valve to "flush tank". Water immediately filled the drain and began to back flushed the tank. Any clog was pushed back into the tank. After a few minutes I shut off the water and opened the drain valve. The flow was much improved but eventually slowed down again. I repeated this a few times and after 3 flushes the tank emptied normally. I then went back and cleaned the tank with a wand and we were done. If I hadn't had this unit I'm not sure what I would have done but it probably would have involved opening the sewer line or trying to snake the clog out from inside. Yuck!! 3. Hose Flush - When your ready to disconnect you want to flush your septic hose. Normally you dump you grey water after emptying and closing your black tank to rinse the hose. Additionally you would probably disconnect the hose and spray it out with your water hose. With this unit you simply close your black/grey water drain valves, switch the direction valve to "flush hose" and turn on the water. This flushes your hose with fresh water without disconnecting it. Much better option than disconnecting if you asked me. Once rinsed you your satisfaction you can disconnect and plug your hose. In closing, this item is a "Must Have" for me. I would not use any other method than this type of flush valve plus a wand for flushing my tanks and hoses.

A total lifesaver!! Easy and a 1000% effective! My neighbors come around to borrow this thing!
This thing is a lifesaver. I had a clogged tank out of nowhere. I spent 3 days different methods and tank additives trying to sort it out. Finally I ordered this thing. Hooked it up to the outside attach the garden hose and the stinky slinky, and follow the instructions. I turn the garden hose on spraying into the tank for about 30 seconds. My tank was pretty full at that point. I turned around and let it drain and a lot came out. I did that process again and let it fill up more and a lot more came out, My tank drained. After that I went ahead and cleaned the tank for good measure. My 30 gallon tank took a couple of minutes to fill from the garden hose. I let it fill all the way and drain it. Now I use this thing a couple times a year just to clean the tank out. This is rescued multiple neighbors and travelers through my park. Every once in a while I'll see someone with the look of desperation and frustration trying to drain their tank and I already know what they need. This thing does the trick every time. And every time someone uses it they immediately go on Amazon and order one for themselves. If you don't need this yet you're going to. Buy it now it's the only thing you'll ever need.

It will help clean the nasties out of the tank
day one use: As a full time rv family, it was very inconvenient to have to run a hose through a window to fill the rear tank so as to clean and flush. I used this for the first time. I purchased this one because I saw conflicting reviews for some of the other versions of this device. It will allow for flushing of your tanks. It makes it so much easier for cleaning my rear black tank. I have a sprayer on the front black tank, but not the rear. It did exactly as it claimed. M tank is definitely cleaner, and you can see through the clear attachment. The only thing I have against this item, is the flow rate of the valve. It will fill the tank, but somewhat slowly. If you have a straight shot into your black tank, then this is amazing for flushing. I don't have that luxury. The reason I bought this was to avoid having to run the hose through the trailer. Once the tank is filled, allowing the water to flush out will pull all the "stuff" out. I does take a little longer using this vs the old way, but it definitely is cleaner.

Very good for tank flushing and cleaning
I have a 1995 camper that was given to me 1 year ago. It had been used several times a year since new, had not been used for 4 years. The last owner had emptied both tanks but there was a lot of "stuff" remaining in the tanks. I used this to clean the tanks and it worked really well! Two flushes in each tank and every thing came out quite clean. I also used a hose with a tank spinner down the toilet before and between the flushes. I also gave the black tank one more quick spinner and light flush. BE SURE TO GET IT WITH THE GATE VALVE OR IT WILL NOT WORK VERY WELL for back flushing. Also, some people have had problems with leaking or breaking. I strongly suggest you support the device and hose when using. During the tank emptying stage of the flush, the water is really heavy in the hose and the flush device. So I used a bucket and a 12" 2x6 to keep the device level and support the device and first 6 inches of the hose. I could see that if I did not do this and fully opened the valve there would be a lot of weight on the coupling knuckles. Support the device and hose and it should last a while.

Works Exactly Like It Should
Works Exactly Like It Should This little gadget makes flushing and cleaning the RV tanks so much easier. The reverse flush has great pressure, everything connects securely, and it does exactly what it promises. If you’ve got an RV, this is one of those tools you don’t realize you need until you have it.

A life saver!
I have a 2019 FR3 and it started having problems with the grey water tank draining. We are full time campers, and it had no issues for about a year. Then it started draining slowly. It finally completely stopped draining. I had to have work done on it because the drainpipe was leaking around the gate valve. It drained great for a while and then got clogged up again. I bought this to see if it would clear the clog and it did! What a relief. I will use it on the black water tank when I have some time and I am sure that it will be cleared out just as good as the gray water tank was. The black water tank has never had a problem though. I highly recommend this because it is easy and fast and does the job.

Poor build quality, but does the job.
Worked as I hoped to help work a rv black tank clog through. Unfortunately it came to me with the switch know broken... it was relatively intact but it didn't work... simple disassemble and you can turn it with some pliers. Lame but still works. Build quality was poor... though it worked, it fell apart several times through the process but ultimately did the job. Maybe worth buying a better quality one, I will next time if this thing actually fails. Happy camping folks!
