Excellent tool for self-hair cuts - especially for blending...
Grip & Trim is an excellent tool for cutting your own hair on the top. Where it really shines though is blending in: For the first time I found a tool that actually allowed me to blend in my hair on the top with the sides. (It does help to have a human helper to hold the hand-held mirror though ...)

Failed on 1st use.
Unfortunately, it came apart after one use, the bold that should hold it together was missing the nut.

Needs work
Doesn't work badly but maybe the design and size could be changed (it is slightly awkward to use). The screw in the middle allows you to tighten them as they do get a bit looser after a few minutes. When this happens the front few centimetres of the tongs don't really grip at all, although you may not notice at first until you look and see that they are slightly apart towards the front if the screw gets a bit looser. It could be designed better so this doesn't happen. I only used it today for some minutes so it won't have loosened that much but enough to have this effect. Just tightening the screw a bit with a finger nail was enough to get it back to normal (maybe overtightening would be bad too so maybe this should be looked at also).

Simple but effective tool
Seems to be too simple a product to be of any real use (could it actually really work?), but when we got used to using it after only two cuts, it was clearly obvious this little product produces more reliable and pleasing cutting results than other methods in home hairdressing. Works best for me to have someone else doing the cutting while I hold it in place. It has taken our cutting to a more professional looking results, and makes cutting hair faster and more predictable. Possibly a little expensive for what it is, but the results are clearly worth it.

Learning curve needed. Watch the videos
I bought this to help with home haircutting. I had thought there would be a way to tell how high you are holding it. Actually though the way it works is, you squeeze the handle and it opens into a double comb which you push into your hair, then you let go of the handle and lift it to get the height away from your head, then cut with clipper or scissors. Repeat grabbing a small bit of the newly cut hair alongside the next section over. The cut bit shows where to lift to and cut again. You can do this over the whole head. Its not always easy on your own hair as its very hard to judge the distance behind your head even with a 3 fold mirror. I will likely keep this for just doing the crown . If you have hair like the person in the advert pictures (and videos),Thick dense hair, you will find it the most useful. For mine it is basically a quick snip and then put it away and use a different method but it does help somewhat. Good bits, the closed comb holds the hair meaning it doesnt drop it till you open the handle part so you dont lose the right length while you get your other hand positioned to cut. It feels like clippers will work really well over the flat comb surface ( i used my hair scissors) The colour makes it easy to see what you are doing with it. Could do with.. A guide chart with hair length guide for various cuts as we arent all trained hair technicians so cant visualise what cutting to 4" will look like without actually doing it. Any special techniques for using it would be appreciated in a guide. More videos of different people using it would be a great help. It has potential but I think it loses a lot with not being able to learn technique as once you cut it, thats it for about 6 weeks before you can try again. Will work excellent on fluffy or thick hair types. Might work on long sleek but needs a learning curve. I paid just under £20 for this which feels expensive though it is very well made and strong.

Great gadget!
Great little handy gadget. Bought for my other half, he finds it super easy to use. When he’s feeling lazy I use it on him with scissors also. Easily secures hair in place! Great for travelling if no time for a trim beforehand.

Great gadget, great idea
I tried trimming the ends of my hair and this is much more accurate than using a comb, because it holds the hair in place as I cut. I also used it to give volume when drying the roots with my hairdryer - as it allowed me to grab sections of hair better than a hairbrush. Neat little tool, highly recommend it
