Great product and definitely keeps you cool in the heat. It works great
I own and run a small lawn service in Florida. I got very sick last summer due to extreme heat and humidity. I found this vest with icepacks included. It changed the game. I wore this the rest of the summer. It keeps you cool and the icepacks seem to last about two hours or maybe a little longer. It a very handy thing to have if you need to stay cool when your outside in the summer

Kept a character suit actor cool for hours
My friends and I filmed a Bigfoot movie on an 80+ degree afternoon in April, and we used this vest to keep the actor cool inside the suit. They were 100% comfortable and said the vest “saved them.” Awesome product!

Great for working in the heat. Materials a little flimsy
Pros: Working in the heat with the ice packs is awesome. I put it over a t-shirt, and usually I wear another t-shirt over it to secure it and hold the cold packs tight to my body.2 sets of cold packs is mandatory if you're working more than a couple of hours; I appreciate that it comes with 8.The light mesh is great. It breathes and doesn't add more weight.Cons: Materials are all a little cheap, but the price of the item is low, so I feel like this it's a washOne of the straps came unraveled after about a month of occasional use. I'm just going to sew it back and not worry about it, but the elastic is the cheap kind that will eventually just lose all of its elasticity. If you work outdoors in the heat, or especially attic spaces (HVAC, etc.) you should try this out, but if it is really useful, you may end up spending more to get a better quality vest

Great for surviving extreme heat
Some people buy cooling vests with some misconceptions on their mind. Let me clear those up first. Cooling vests are not particularly comfortable to wear, they will not make you feel like you're not hot, and they are by no means fashionable. Cooling vests are not particularly useful to the average person. I'd recommend getting one only if you need to be in 100+ degree heat regularly, or if you have heat sensitivity issues like I do. Cooling vests are less about comfort in the heat and more about not getting heatstroke in extreme conditions. This is true of ALL cooling vests. With that out of the way...This thing is a life saver! As I mentioned just above, I have a lot of trouble tolerating heat. I barely sweat, it can be nearing 90 degrees and I'll be bone dry. But with this cooling vest, I can survive working even in extreme heat! Just last week it was no joke nearing 115 F where I live, and I had to walk a mile and a half in the sun. Without this vest there's no way I'd have made it. It was a miserable day, absolutely, but I'd have ended up in the hospital if I hadn't had this vest to keep my core body temperature down.Though there's no such thing as a comfortable cooling vest, this is one of the more comfortable ones out there. It's made of light, breathable material. The extreme V shape of the front allows women to wear it without issue, where other cooling vests just won't fit properly over the chest. How long this lasts and how well it works depends on the temperature and exactly how well your body can cool itself. In 100+ F heat the ice packs might barely last an hour, where in temperatures nearer to the mid-80s they can last 3 or 4 hours. I've found that combining this vest with a spray bottle of cool water to spray on myself, I can survive up to about 95 F as long as the ice packs stay frozen. Above that temperature, I can last a while but will need to take some breaks to avoid overheating. How long you can last and at what temperatures will depend on your own body.I appreciate that this comes with a little carrying bag. If you have any extra ice packs around (I highly recommend buying a few cheap extras), the little bag can help to keep your extras frozen until they're needed. Make sure to swap for new ice packs as soon as the ones you're wearing melt. Melted ice packs tend to insulate more than to cool, so swap quickly!

Desert field botanist key to staying cool and safe in the summer.
I bought an Ice Vest for field work in the Mojave and Colorado Desert during the peak on summer heat I am a field botanist and my crew and I were working on a project that required us to be in the field, despite us starting earlier in the summer, come around to 10:00 it would be hot. This vest kept me cooler which helped tremendously. Along with salty snacks, electrolytes, and lots of water, with the occasional use of a sunbrella the ice vest was indeed a helpful tool that kept me safe and cool. The gel packs are bulky, maybe i overfilled it with water, the vest when worn with the gel packs is bulky, a bit goofy looking, but then again, I am not trying to impress anything or anyone. I even used it for yard work in the summer.I like the insulated storage tote, I would freeze the gel packs and store the vest in with it. It was like a little suitcase that can fit in the freezer. In the morning I would pull the tote out and leave everything inside the tote until we got to our destination, put it on and stay cool.I even used the vest at home when working on projects that required me to be outdoors.Have to work smart and safe! This helps.

Old verses New Improvement
I had purchased the older version of this cooling vest a few years ago which seemed to work, however, the chest vest had some stitching issues that was not very good, and it was way too late to return it for an exchange or refund. So years later I saw that this same company had improved the design of their cooling vest with a different chest vest material instead of the mesh material used in their earlier version. I could see the areas of other improvements with different cooling paks. So I purchased their redesigned cooling vest. This summer I had a chance to tried the redesigned cooling vest. The first time I used the vest it was a bit annoying trying to get the redesigned ice paks in the vest interior pockets, especially if you fill them with too much water during the freezing phase. I wore the vest over a cooling type T-shirt while during yard work. During my yard work I noticed that I could barely feel the coolness from the ice paks. So, the second time I had to do mowing in the heat I wore the cooling vest in direct contact with my body with a cooling type T-shirt over it. Once again I could barely feel the coldness of the ice paks through the vest pockets that hold them. So I gave this vest a third and fourth try, but I never really felt the coldness of the ice paks when I wore the cooling vest against my skin with a T-shirt over the vest. I would not recommend this product because I never felt the coldness of the ice paks through the pocket material of the cooling vest. The vests are priced rather high.

Environmental conditions affect cooling times.
I work on the beach as a wedding photographer. I work primarily on the beaches in Pinellas county (gulf coast Florida, Clearwater/ St. Pete area) we have very high humidity and many times the “feel like” temps are in the triple digits. IMO- it’s brutal. After several “close calls” from the heat I discovered cooling vests. I chose this one because of the reviews and cut of the vest. I am a female and needed something that would sit properly and actually surround my core. The V cut and placement of the ice packs is perfect (ladies I’m sure you understand). The fit: I love being able to adjust the sides and the shoulders. I will mention that the plastic pieces for adjustment seem the be on the inside so it needs to be adjusted before you zip it up. I was able to adjust the Velcro on the shoulders to position the vest so the ice packs are just below the bra line.Cooling time: after about 45-60 minutes the packs become soft with about 1/5 still frozen. I can feel the small frozen bits in the bags. I personally become overheated very quickly and I have to change the ice packs out after and hour. I’m working in direct sunlight however. Variables such as cloud cover and day time seem to extend the ice and cooling a little bit. The shortest cooling times seem to be between 11am-4pm in direct sun.I will note that after the first use, it was 2 pm, 98/99 with feel like temps of 110+, no cloud coverage and high humidity; I felt like it didn’t do anything and was disappointed. I returned to the beach at 4pm with fresh packs and added an additional pack under my shirt over the left side of my chest. That made a huge different for me. Also want to mention the temps/conditions hadn’t really changed.Since then on “normal” days (with out heat advisories) this vest has been a life saver. I do also wear a large sun hat and put an ice pack in the hat to keep my head cool. I wear a very thin tank top under the vest with my regular shirt over the vest. It is a bit bulky and certainly doesn’t give a slimming appearance but it’s not heavy or uncomfortable. For me comfort out weights fashion.Overall I’m very pleased with the function and cooling of this vest and would recommend. I would definitely suggest getting extra ice packs to switch out as needed. The ice packs I received do not “recharge” when I put them in my cooler.Cons: The only negatives I can think of right now are the adjustable straps on the sides seem to be on the wrong side. You can not adjust them once it’s zipped upThe Velcro straps on the shoulder rub and/or dig in my shoulder especially when my camera strap rests on them. Both is these are minor in the big scheme of things.

Save up and get Ezcooldown
Causes extreme pain in chest as packs can't be evenly distributed, only around your heart and stomach. Pack guidelines are not clear at all. The best feature is the bag that does help keep things full, but otherwise I would avoid this.I was unable to fursuit for any longer than normal in the suit

Straps Ripped Straight Away.
Straps actually ripped off the vest with no pressure. Not fit for the purpose. Straps basically just disintegrated. Very cheaply made.

Quality
Quality isn’t that good for the price, I’m mean it’s ok but you can tell the quality isn’t very good and it’s small thought it would make bigger.. wouldn’t purchase again
