WS Game Company Scrabble Deluxe Travel Edition Portable Wood Board Game Set

This is the best reasonably portable Scrabble game we have ever had. For years, we relied on the canvas case zipper protected, portable game, but the letter pieces often bounced out of the plastic folding board. There also wasn’t room in that portable version to keep (without an unsightly split zipper) letter stands, notepad, and pencil, which are so essential to being a nerdy wordaphile. This portable game however is both functional and, dare I say it, handsome. Once folded open, the board splits open in separate wings to provide access to storage for the letter, bag, letters, pencil, and notepad. Although it is a little large for stuffing in an overnight, it carries nicely in a backpack. Remember, it’s not about the words, it’s about the score.

Got this for a weekend trip away with my now non-significant other. Board is well made, and the tiles are a good weight without feeling cheap or too small. I really enjoyed how the pieces fit snugly on the board without being difficult to remove. Game play is easy to learn and fun to play. Unfortunately, I walloped him so badly that he refused to ever play scrabble again despite it being one of my favorite games. (‘Loser’ is worth 5 points if you’re not on a premium tile, if anyone was wondering)

Really like this Travel Scrabble! The compact wooden tiles are easy to handle, and the velvet bag is a plush touch for tile selection. The board's petite size makes it easy to spin around on a café table, perfect for those intense moments when you need to double-check your triple-word score. But it’s not too small or finicky. It's also sturdy enough to brave a breeze if you're playing outside. Despite its compact size, there's still room for a drink, a snack, and even your Scrabble dictionary on your two-top table. When you’re done, everything packs neatly into the travel box, which I keep in my car for impromptu games. A charming set for Scrabble lovers.

Good travel scrabble set. I unfortunately dropped and broke my old plastic travel set, which I preferred. The old plastic one had every so slightly bigger tiles, yet I think it folded up smaller and weighed less than the new wooden travel set, which has very tiny letter tiles. Plus the letter racks just hold 7 letters. No room for a spot to shift stuff around. All in all an attractive and functional set, but I preferred the old plastic model more.

Item is exactly as pictured. Everything seems well made. I like how all the pieces fit neatly within the game. In my opinion, everything is well sized and easy to use/ read. I also like that the board has edges to keep tiles in place. Keep in mind the top parts can slide all the way out, and the dust bag can become bulky when tied which may require some readjusting to slide the tops back for closing. Overall, this was a great deal and design on one of my favorite games. Im so happy I found this!

I wanted to get my boyfriend a scrabble board that was sturdily built and was made of quality wood! Most boards that were wood and seemed nice were way out of my price range so this was a great alternative for the quality but smaller size! The board is so pretty and its smaller size has lent it self to use as we now carry it to our coffee shop or park to play outside. The board is quite small but neither of us really mind. Since it’s a travel board there are indents to keep the tiles in places which has been so hopeful since I’m known to accidentally mess the whole board! Highly recommend!!

Almost feels like it's for really small people/children. I'm average height/weight but over 50...so the eyesight is not the best and the thought of finagling these little tiles is a bit daunting. Although the construction helps tiles stay in place...so once you plop a tile in, it should rest there....I really need to play it to speak to the particulars. :-) However, the quality is great. Definitely a great idea for traveling if you're the type to play Scrabble while on travel.

Ordered this and received yesterday. I must admit, I was mildly concerned from what a few reviews had mentioned about quality, but so far, it's not been too bad. I've not removed the wooden tiles / racks/ paper / Pencil from their packaging yet, this is because we're off on holiday soon and I couldn't see the point making everything loose from Day 1 just for the sake of it and besides the packaging is transparent for those. The game arrived well wrapped, with protective corner pieces. Upon unwrapping, the only thing I noticed were a couple of tiny scuffs on the long edge corner of the game. Because the wood is like a cherry red sorry of colour, these were reasonably obvious although not massively distracting. My wife found a light brown Sharpie and gently ran it across the scuffs and note you can't even see they were there. Opening the game shows the board which was in good order. There were two squares in the middle that had a tiny blob of glue that I'll remove with a sharp craft knife. Aside from that, it all looked good. The tiles, although I kept in their bag (though as I write this I might well open the bag and check they are all there!), and yes obviously they are smaller than normal scrabble tiles but they aren't as tiny as some have said and I've got pretty big hands. They're shouldn't be any problem placing these on the board. So far, so good. I'll update my review if anything goes south upon unpacking or playing the game.
