A Christmas staple!
Great value at the price I paid. Always reliable, always enjoyable. A rich ruby colour, fullsome flavour with some tannin. Terrific accompaniment to Long Clawson Stilton. Cheers!

This is a great discovery for a very reasonable price
I recently stumbled upon this port, and let me tell you, it's the perfect example of "cheap but good." This bottle of port wine has completely won me over with its exceptional quality and affordable price point. Its delightful flavours, smooth texture, and affordability make it a must-try for anyone looking to explore the world of port wine. Don't let its reasonable price fool you; this port is proof that great wines can come at a fraction of the cost. Cheers to a fantastic discovery!

Initially sharp, but drinkable...
I prefer Tawny port tbh but when it comes to cost i have to accept that this port can't be compared to Tawny as they are truly miles apart. This port is initially sharp and leaves a acidic tingle in the mouth, but after that it is drinkable (i hope that statement makes sense) let me explain, i am no connoisseur and neither are many of them who claim to be, they may think they are but that's because all snobs do. Normal honest people like me who like fine food and drink when we can afford it, will tell the truth based on cost compared to our usual tipple. I drank the bottle so i could give a full review and if i was to drink it again then i would but only with brandy added (port & brandy) and not a good bottle of brandy either as that would be a waste, at £10.00 a bottle it is value for money but that is all, if you want a cheap nice tasting port then i would skip this and buy the Fonseca Bin 27 at £13.95 which is way better imo, and if you want a awesome port and brandy then use Fonseca Bin 27 and Hine rare VSOP, guaranteed to satisfy the BS connoisseur.

I am rather partial to a glass of LBV Port
An after-dinner glass of LBV (late bottled vintage) ruby port is one of my favourite tipples - particularly at Christmas with a chunk of Stilton cheese and a cracker or two. LBV port has been matured in a cask and then bottled for sale. Whereas, vintage ports that are matured in the bottle and 'throw a crust' such that the wine needs to be decanted before use to remove this residue. As in previous years, Amazon had this LBV on 'seasonal' special offer at £9 a bottle. A bargain too good to miss, I promptly ordered a couple of bottles - and, as usual, I wasn't disappointed! If you like a good ruby port, then Taylors LBV is, IMHO, excellent at a reasonable price. You won't get a better port (LBV or other) without spending considerably more. NOTE: Ruby port is not to be confused with the 'Tawny' variety. Tawny port is a very different animal that is rather sweet and suitable, IMHO, to have slightly chilled with, say, a dessert. Alas, it is NOT, my favoured tipple. UPDATE: I just purchased a further 2 bottles and, once again was not disappointed. My only gripe was the enormous box Amazon used for packaging. It does seem rather a waste!
