Makes hooping thick fabrics a breeze!
The magnets are very strong. Hooping thick or multiple layers - ie quilts- is a breeze. Just beware that you can do damage to your fingers if you get them in the way of the hooping...lol. Very happy with the hoop- I've been able to quilt on my embroidery machine for the first time and it's turning out beautifully!

Hoop has plastic parts
I have concerns that the part that hooks on to the Janome embroidery machine is plastic instead of metal like the Janome hoops. For how expensive this hoop was I expected! Magnet is very strong have no complaints on that.

I love this magnetic hoop.
The magnetic hoop makes embroidery hooping easy. With arthritis, using the convention hoops is hard but it’s so easy to use this. I love it. The snap hoop monster is a little pricy but it makes hooping so much easier.

Wanted to love it
This is one of those things that you think, wow, this seems almost too good to be true, and for that price? it HAS to be good.. .right? Wrong. I wanted to love this hoop so bad. It has great reviews and the brand is highly reputable. However, It has a serious design flaw. I'm not sure how others don't have this issue, so I truly chalked it up to being a user error of mine. But no matter what I've done with my hoop, my machine, my design files, my thread... it's the SAME issue, every single time. I'll put this hoop away out of frustration, and bring it back out sometime later to try again when I'm not trying to drop kick it down a hill. There's one area that CONSTANTLY gets stuck and causes the design to get "pinched". I have very intently stared at this hoop in action, and the magnets get stuck on something on the machine. I have a Janome 550e. So it barely moves and all your stitches sort of pile up until it's far enough away it jerks it back to where it's supposed to be in the design. I'm not sure if my hoop is defective, or what the deal is. Do others just deal with this massive malfunction and move on? Am I perfectionist? Maybe. But when people are paying for a design to be straight, and not wonky, that's what I should be providing. Due to this, I'm out over $200 and have a worthless magnet. I cannot continue to use this knowing it's going to mess up every single design that goes through it. You'd think a a magnetized hoop would have it's flaws worked out so it wasn't sticking TO THE MACHINE. Very unfortunate.

Not just for quilting
Love it. I use it even when I’m not quilting. It’s much easier to center the fabric and know exactly where that needle will drop without constantly rehooping.

Fair
I like the concept, but the frame top moves and doesn't stay in place. Causes embroidery issues.

Little learning curve
The product works great. The learning curve is not bad but product not as intuitive as I would have liked.

Its disappointing that such an expensive product has such cheaper ruler stickers. Mine started to peel off the second time I used it, despite me rubbing them on firmly, and then the 3rd time I used it, the stickers stuck to the fabric and ripped the ruler sticker off one side. These rulers are vital for end to end quilting, which is why I bought it, so without them, the product is useless to me. For the very high cost, these rulers should be printed on into the plastic, not a cheap sticker. I have returned mine for a refund.
