From the Publisher Review: Heart touching book! - Messages from the Himalayan sages is a wonderful book and if you want to know more about gurusakalamaa , her life journey and about her traditional guru lineage,it is the best. It beautifully shows the intimate bond between a guru and disciple. While reading the book it felt like I am also on a journey with gurumaa and it created a really special bond with the book. Guru Sakalama's writing is infused with a deep sense of compassion, love, and understanding. The messages shared in this book are both poetic and practical, offering guidance on how to navigate life's challenges with greater ease, clarity, and purpose. One of the most striking aspects of this book is its ability to transcend time and culture. The wisdom shared by the Himalayan Sages is universal and eternal, speaking directly to the heart of the reader. A must read for people who love spiritual autobiographies💙 Review: A helpful guide to spirituality - I’ am at the moment taking baby steps in my spiritual journey. I came in contact with Guru Sakalamma through my wife who has always had a keen interest in spirituality. Truth be told the first time I met her was more a formality since I had gone to the Ashram to pick up my wife. Right from that day till date Guruma has never talked to me about spiritualty in general or about my interest or spiritual journey. Only if I were to talk about it would she respond, in other words no attempt whatsoever to try to determine or influence my interest or journey. In those brief moments of interaction, I did not know much about her background, therefore I was keenly looking forward to this book. Her initiation and subsequent spiritual journey are nothing short of fascinating to read about. She speaks about her life and journey in very simple terms, taking care to explain to us, lay persons, the meaning of the various practices and shlokas. In the process she breaks quite a few myths about spiritual practices and also preconceived images about how we perceive yogis. I definitely recommend this book to any person who is even remotely interested in spirituality and also to those who have any sort of pre conceived notions about spirituality. Even if you have no intention on following the spiritual path, I would still recommend this book as a means of understanding why some of us tread this path. As she talks in person, so is she talking through this book; just a simple, honest detailing of her experiences without the intention to impress the listener or reader with grand ideas or thoughts. And yet if you do end up being impressed and in awe then maybe it is time for you to introspect. As for the naysayers all I can say is Please move on.

“An Intimate Journey : This book reveals Vulnerable Paths to Inner Peace"
This is a deeply personal narration of Guru Sakalamaa's life and living through the lens of ancient wisdom, as conveyed by Himalayan sages. This book is also much more than a collection of spiritual thoughts. Guru Sakalamaa’s interpretations reveal an emphasis on understanding oneself deeply and developing a compassionate outlook toward others, echoing the values Santana Dharma. This book speaks to human experience as a whole. Complex spiritual ideas are communicated through simple, heartfelt language that speaks directly to the reader. Just like the narration, the reading too makes for a deeply intimate experience. Guru Sakalamaa’s focus on actionable guidance which includes practical steps that readers can incorporate into their lives to embody the lessons shared. For instance, while discussing the importance of meditation, she offers simple practices to center the mind and build mindfulness, making these teachings applicable even to those leading busy lives. This balance between philosophy and practical advice makes the book a useful resource for those looking to apply spiritual insights in a tangible way. Himalayan backdrop serves as both a literal and metaphorical reminder of the tranquility that one can achieve through spiritual practice. It’s a recommended read for those interested in exploring a reflective approach to personal growth and spiritual enlightenment. I also highly recommend reading this book interspersed with her podcasts in english as well as kannada. This book is originally written in Kannada. Those who can , must most certainly read the Kannada book and listen to podcasts in Kannada. It makes for an even more intimate and heart-felt learning.

About the book 'Messages from the Himalayan Sages' - Every part of it gives deep Spiritual understanding & profound wisdom on Indian Sages' tradition. Inspires us to start observing on very subtle dimensions of life in this universe which always existed "Timely, Timeless" which might have been overlooked in this Yuga due to various reasons. When we imbibe such core knowledge from this book stated in simplestic, interesting manner which not only gives us strength for cultivating qualities like self-awareness, compassion, spiritual aspects in day to life , i believe it also direct us in life to right direction in all areas of life. To understand Why Guru, importance of Guru Lineage, Sadhana and many more
Aum Gurubhyo Namaha, Thank you Guru Sakala Maa for this book. I think the experiences recorded here is just the tip of the ‘ice berg’ and I am sure many more intense “experiences (I would want to use the word “Sakshatkara”) might have happened in Amma’s life. I was so eager to read this book that probably I read it in a little haste, I will read this again. I had this question of Why so many Guru’s we have around us and I got the answer here, it’s the multiple Guru Lineages’ existing. It’s simple English and no ‘spiritual jargons’ and hence can be read and understood by anyone, who is ready to go through some experience. The part that touched my heart was the experience of Sri Gaurav with Sage Durvasa and I sobbed through the chapter. Now I am eager and ambitious to attend the ‘spiritual retreat’ - YES, ofcourse by GOD and Guru’s willing. Thank you Maa for taking me to various places / dham’s / caves - through this Book. Thank you for all the photos’, especially those at the last few pages. Completed reading the book and Maa Bhagavati blessed me to visit Sringeri and it was a very fruitful experience. Gratitude Guru Sakala Maa.
