Really great crib for a small space!
So I actually bought this crib almost 5 years ago but since I've had it this long I think it time to give a real review! I bought this when I had my first child because we lived in a small apartment, I'll tell ya the size is perfect for any room, it was also light enough for me to move around wherever I see fit. The actual quality of it isn't AMAZING, it does chip easily. My child did make bite marks on it so maybe that was just on us! 😬 But It has held up for this long along with it actually being incredibly sturdy for its size and quality BOTH of my children (individually) used this crib until they were 2. Whether that's your choice or not to wait until then to put them in something bigger is on you but just pointing out that it is possible for a toddler. To end this after 5 years with 2 children I've actually re-gifted it to my sister-in-law and it looks so perfect in her nursery. (We also bought it in white, which is maybe why the bite marks and scratches were so obvious) All in all it is a great crib if you are able to dish out the 200 bucks.

Update from 2014
This crib fits great in our small space. It was easy to assemble and it's easy to lower when needed. I was worried from reviews about this crib scratching easily. So far it has not scratched and has been bumped quite a few times by things. The Einstein crib mobile fits good on this crib. Before that mobile I pushed a mobile down on the side that was from a pack and play. UPDATE: my son is almost a year old and just started pulling to standing and crawling. He stands in the crib and puts his mouth on it. Paint chips are left on his face when he does this! See photo. It has happened twice now.

Cheap. Unhappy.
So not only did one of my cribs (same model) break at the baseboard after a month of use (they did send me a replacement, so I would have been happier) but both cribs have the same stupid issues. Firstly they feel cheaply made, the panels are flimsy and weak, the screw holes are an eyesore (the're huge and insightly) and the screws they use are bright chrome which sticks out badly and makes the crib look cheap and ugly. They could at LEAST send white topped screws with it to blend it in better, it wouldn't cost that much more for the company to give a crap about aesthetics just a little. But my biggest gripe (after the breaking baseboard obviously) are those horrible stickers the manufacturer places on the inside of the crib on either side at the top (so it's not like they EVER get hidden by a mattress of something). They DO NOT COME OFF, they're ugly AF and just trying to remove these horrible, cheap stickers through careful methods has gotten me 1. No where, then 2. Chipped paint, then 3. Literally pulling UP paint while the adhesive STAYS in place! I've been trying to get those ugly stickers off for over an hour and I've got maybe half of them up (kind of). I am so disappointed. Cheap screws, cheap materials, cheap baseboard, cheap paint, CHEAP STICKERS! And then you charge like $140 dollars retail NEW? It's scandalous. You're supposed to be a reputable brand. Some people care if they spend hard earned cash on a product and don't want it to look like and feel like garbage afterward.

Seems like a good crib but the smell is concerning.
We purchased this crib for the grandparents house. I will try to leave a simple and easy to understand review.ProsLooks niceEasy to assemble4 adjustable positionsFits in a small roomLow costConsVery heavy chemical odor its concerningThe backing for the mattress is flimsy MDF board not metal or full wood slants like full size cribsNeutralMy son is 8 months old he is very long and weighs 19 lbs. Right now he fits in it just fine. Uncertain how long he will but hoping to get to 1.5 yrs. Hard to tell.Follow up to consThe odor is unmistakable and it is concerning. I don't know what it is. I've assembled hundreds of pieces of furniture ranging from my college years Kmart furniture to luxury furniture. I have never smelled this before. We had to set the crib outside for 3 days and it still had an odor. Finally we gave it a vinegar bath and the odor was nearly gone. The crib has the proper safety ratings for chemicals and such but the smell made me nauseated. The backing for the mattress is what smells the most. I don't know of it's glue or fire retardant. The backing is also 1/4 inch MDF and not real wood or metal like full size cribs. I've actually thought about replacing it with luan used for under payments in flooring but haven't looked into it enough. All in all I would say purchase the crib well ahead of the need. Assemble it and then rub the entire thing down with vinegar. Finally set it outside for a few days.

Chemical smell
It's been 3 weeks since I've put the crib together. We still have a couple of months til the babies arrive but I am concerned of the smell. That's right were having twins and I bought 2 of these. There is a really strong chemical smell , that always leaves my chest feeling tight when I leave the room. I put the crib together early hoping to air it out and that the smell will be gone once the babies arrives. I have a window fan constantly running. I also have two heating fan I turn on for a couple hours a day to help accelerate the gassing out of the smell. But so far the smell has not gone away. I might end up having to buy another crib if the problem doesn't go away. I'm surprised I didn't read any reviews regarding this.

Beautiful crib, great price, wonderful memories in the making
I absolutely love this crib:) We had the space for a full-size, but I didn't see the point of such a large crib. We bought this one before my wee one arrived (with plenty of time in case something was wrong....no need to worry, it arrived exactly as described!) I read the reviews prior to buying and took the advise to order the 3" Dream On Me, Extra Firm mattress (with the purchase, the pad that came with the crib is not meant as a mattress.) The Dream On Me mattress worked perfectly! My wee one slept in a bassinet for a long while before we transitioned her, she had no problems with the move to the crib. We are now down to the lowest setting of the mattress, and she is still sleeping in the mini crib (17 months old).EDIT: We have just transitioned our wee one to a toddler bed, now at 21 months. More because she enjoys the freedom, yet she still fits within the crib for days she wants to still use it. Hands down, a great purchase choice for us.

Excellent Mini Crib & Customer Support
I bought this mini crib as a replacement to a Dream On Me mini crib. The Dream On Me mattress I ordered fits snugly in this crib than in the Dream On Me model I returned. The crib is lightweight, but the wood and paint is fragile. I accidently dropped a bolt on one of the wooden legs when assembling, which made a small indent. The best thing about the crib is that the screws come with lock washers! I was planning to use Loctite on the screw threads so I don't have to keep re-tightening the screws, but the lock washers solved that problem. That's a very smart idea from the DaVinci company.I was also very happy with the customer support. I emailed DaVinci about this model to ask some questions about the paint before buying it, and was answered with a very detailed response.Overall, I am very happy with this mini crib. Be sure to buy crib guards to protect the rails from baby gnawing, as the wood and paint is fragile.Pros:- lightweight- hardware comes with lock washers, so the screws won't come loose- stylish- excellent customer support (they actually answered my email inquiry)Cons:- wood and paint can be easily damaged

this crib was relatively easy to put together
Despite the instructions not being very clear, this crib was relatively easy to put together. Although it can be done with only one person, I would recommend two for the job to better prevent any scratches to the finish. The espresso colour is quite beautiful. I wish Amazon also sold the conversion kit.Edit: I kept the included mattress pad in the package until recently and noticed that it is slightly smaller than the crib dimensions (which doesn't seem very safe). As others have recommended in their reviews, I also purchased the Dream On Me 3-Inch Portable Crib Mattress, and am glad I did, as it fits the crib perfectly.

Ok crib, however screws are constantly loosening
Crib is ok. I constantly have to tighten the screws each month as they somehow manage to loosen leaving the sides or the front panels loose and shaky (!!!). I really needed a mini crib instead of a full size option as my baby outgrew (almost overnight!) her bassinet. If I had planned better, I should have shopped around instead of settling on this crib. Aesthetically the crib is nice, but the loose screws is not ideal.

If you can't afford more it works, but if you can? Go somewhere else
I love the tiny aspect of this crib! It really is a mini crib! That is where my enjoyment ends... The instructions? Fell apart in my hands into four seperate sections... The screws, bolts and washers? All shoved into one bag! Oh and get this(ಠ_ಠ)━ they want you to realize there are two different sets of screws and seperate them before you out the crib together, otherwise you run into the problem that we had where we put all the large screws in first thinking everything was the same size and ended up having to undo all the work we had made... No extra sets of screws, and some random instructions to put in little screw things into the legs for no reason? It doesn't hold or connect to anything .. maybe it's for when you want to buy the toddler bed extension? Which you have to buy separately btw.In all honesty, it was what we could afford with such little space that we had. So it's working. But if I had another choice? Definitely not this. Spend your extra dollars elsewhere.
