So I'm new to chalk painting, and I have a few projects I wanted to get done on a budget. I was just using a paintbrush from the hardware store, but was looking for something a little nicer. I purchased these based on other reviews that said it was comparable to a high end brand. Though this is the only brush I've used so far I can say it held a lot of product, cleaned up well for future use, and clearly made things much faster and easier than my hardware store brush! I did not have any bristles fall out either. For reference I used the large brush with Kilz and Rustoleum brand chalk paints, and the Rustoleum matte clear paint.

These brushes are amazing! They cover so well! I used them for a chalk paint/wax project. My husband and I each had a different brush to paint the project, he used the large from this set and I used a synthetic angled brush from the big box store. His coverage was so much smoother and opaque. It got in all the corners and groves better than the smaller angled brush. I used the smaller brush, from this set, to apply clear wax to the top of my project and a dark wax to the bottom and it went on beautifully! I recommend this set!

These brushes are awesome! Very well made and such a good price! Directions for first time use and cleaning were great! As a first time chalk painter, these made my project so easy. I didn’t have any problems with bristles coming out (a few here and there are to be expected with a natural fiber brush). These also dried beautifully after washing (follow the instructions).

The larger brush is nice and so far no problems with it. But the smaller brush is shedding a ton. I’ve had to pick so many bristles out of my painted piece. Pain in the butt. But the main reason I deducted a star is because of the CONSTANT stream of emails from the company telling me to leave feedback for the brushes. It bordered on harassing and I had to unsubscribe to make it stop. It’s excessive to send emails the day after the item is delivered. Not everyone has a chance to paint the very day their brushes arrive. I had to wait a week before I could get started. Super obnoxious to get emails almost daily.

After reading so many complaints about other brands shedding hairs, I didn't expect these brushes to be any different. Well, I was wrong. They turned out to be extremely well made and held up beautifully despite the punishment they took as I used them to whitewash an enormous rock fireplace. Cleanup was a breeze. I followed the manufacturer's conditioning instructions and the result was that not a single hair was shed. Amazing!

This brush is a great quality item that is easy to use and leaves a nice light and even coat. I used it to wax over a hutch that I refinished with chalk paint. It was a breeze to use and my hutch looks amazing. It cleans up easily and keeps its shape after cleanup.

Just from experience, I feel all natural bristle brushes will have some degree of bristles that will fall out, but this was minimal. I prepped the brushes exactly as directed, and I think only about 3 or 4 bristles fell out during the duration of painting the 48" x 54" secretary. I only lost 2 bristles while painting two nightstands. They clean up very easily, and I wrap a paper towel around the bristle end to keep them from fraying out while drying. Overall, I think these are a great value when compared to the more expensive brushes, and I would definitely recommend these.

This is Not the best chalk paint brush out there. It did leave some hair on my furniture while I was paining. In fact, I missed one hair and now my furniture has a permanent brush hair on it and I am very disappointed. I don't really recommend this brush as bristle hair falls off while painting. There are better brushes out there. The wax brush was the same: loosing hairs.

Excellent brush, comfortable feel for painting larger projects. Easy to clean. A very small number of bristles came out. But easy to remove. I am no expert painter but these brushes are excellent.

Bristols fall out when painting . The round one works well to reach small spaces.

I dunno what the hype is about round brushes - not necessarily streak free - I used for chalk paint and also wax application on my piano update. Bristles stayed put when I washed the tips in my palm- I wrapped in paper towel to keep them trained down. Good price compared to other round brushes, but I really don't know what makes it better than a regular brush.

I used this brush to paint chalk paint onto a drawer face, it did a good detailed job with the paint brush but after washing it the hairs stick outwards. I picked up 6 hairs in about 5 coats of doing each one. Its very annoying to be honest to be paying so much money for 2 brushes to have these hair come out. The second brush i did use on wax and it was nice to move around, however it left thick bumps on my paint as in the picture i uploaded, in retrospect i should of just used dollar brushes and get a spray on sealer. I'll be returning these since they do shed.
