I don’t think it is as strong as described in the product description.

Does Not Meet Expectations or Hype
Mis-Labeled.The rod is way lighter than specified. No way will this handle even a 20lb blackfin or bigger gamefish is going to outclass it.This is not for saltwater jigging. It would probably work on red snappers, smaller grouper, or mackerel but anything over 40 lbs is probably going to defeat this rod.Mounted with 6000 or Kastking Rover or even a 7000 Abu it's maxed out.I am disappointed but for $39.95 you can't expect much.

I don't think you're going to get any better for the price
Very good for the money, I bought one for one of my grandsons, he loves it so I'm going to buy a couple more for the other two grandsons, I think it's pretty good myself I used it for flounder,no issues.

Well designed rod for it's designed purpose
I got my first feel of off-shore slow pitch jigging about 4 years ago on a 3 day charter to the dry Tortugas. A gentleman fishing next to me had this funny looking reel and off shore rod that didn't seem to look big enough for anything I planned on catching. During that trip he caught a monster African Pompano, several large snapper, and some nice grouper. At this point school was in session for me. Luckily he was a very nice individual and introduced me to the world of slow pitch. I share this story due to some statements you might see in other reviews about being too small. In the description the concept of slow pitch is stated well to help with those that might not understand how you are truly fighting the fish."The rods are not really used to haul the fish up out of the deep instead the rod is pointed down past a forty five degree angle and the reel is used to pull them up."With this being stated, sure you could snap the rod if using it incorrectly or laying it on the rail to fight a fish. The rod weight in slow pitch is really about coordinating the weight of your lure and how deep you are fishing. The physical weight of the rod is lightweight so you can work the slow pitch all day without getting too tired. The tip of this rod has good action for being able to pitch all day and ensure the slow pitch jig is working all the water column well. The handle of the rod is comfortable and the reel seat is solid with no issues so far. The butt of the rod has plenty of length for steadying the rod while you use the reel to fight the fish. Picking the correct slow pitch reel size to the size of the fish is where the fight is coming from. The rod feels good in the hand with my selected reel and I look forward to finding some nice grouper and if I am even luckier an African Pompano. If I experience any negative aspects in future trips, I will update this review accordingly. If you are looking for a nice price point rod to get into slow pitch jigging this is a decent option.
