I love cottage cheese and eat it almost daily. This stuff, while decent tasting, is absolutely not cottage cheese. Its grainy texture coupled with its vague brown coloration are off-putting. The generic sweetness that this product boasts does not really merit the astronomical (pun intended) cost, $14.95 at the time of this review. At best, a novelty gift for a science/space-crazed acquaintance who speaks Russian, as almost all of the packaging of this product is in Russian.

It was easy, if not a little weird. Lacks sugar by American tastes.

The media could not be loaded. Our kids were super excited to give this astronaut food a try! We have gotten the freeze-dried treats before, but never a tube version like this. First, the tube and paper leaflet included are in Russian. There is a sticker label on the outside with a small amount of information in English. We relied on the listing to see the ingredients: cottage cheese, green apples, sugar, semolina, water. The tube is huge! Great size for sharing. It is sealed, with the type of seal that you use the other side of the cap to open. Initially, there was no smell when in the tube. However, once we squeezed some out, it definitely had a smell, and it wasn't pleasant. Think, kid vomit. Nonetheless, my husband and I were the only brave ones to try it. It was a bit gritty, assuming the teeny apple pieces, with a slight cheesecake texture. We tasted peach though, not apple. Maybe if we had tried more than a small bite, thinking apple, we could have tasted the apple. We just really couldn't get past the smell. Interesting to try, but this was a big pass for us.
