A year later, I'm pretty happy with these.
I bought 2 of these about 14 months ago. I liked the design that allows me to insert them directly into the dirt and the fact that they are tall. They helped me supplement the limited sunshine coming through some windows for a lime and lemon bush over the winter. The 9 hour (per day) timer was great; it was pretty accurate for me, unlike what a few others wrote. Similar to what another buyer wrote, one of them just started flickering badly. I expect the light will die soon, but as it is now, it's unusable; the flickering is enough to give someone a seizure. :-) We just has a neighborhood power outage but I've got a whole-house surge suppressor, but who knows if that was a factor. Just being honest so you can make your own judgement. The second light continues to work fine. I want to get a replacement, but I'm going to look for another brand first. It's a shame because I would otherwise be pretty happy with them. You could take a chance, especially since they are currently about 30% less than I paid for mine. That might be telling us more of the story, since President Tariff is making the price higher than it might normally be right now. Since I've had one of the two go flaky after just a year, and all of my other electronics are just fine, I have to give it two stars. Edit: I changed my review from 2 to 5 stars based on a much lower price and I was able to fix the bad light I wrote about above. I took a chance on buying one more of these, now I have 3. When the new 3rd one arrived, I thought, hmm, let me take the power supply from the new one and try it on the faulty light #2. It worked fine. Doh. So I ordered a replacement power unit for light #2 (about $6) and now I have 3 working lights. The first two I ordered were $30+. Based on the currently lower price of about $20, the low-cost of fixing one bad power supply, and then all the features I described above, I'd say this is a worthy purchase.

Cheap and janky
I got this a few days ago, set it up same day. First the stand is less than the width of a marker, the legs are about the width of my pinky if not smaller. It’s on me for not looking closer at the product and truly understanding what I was buying I guess. Considering the stand is less than half a pound and the lights are the only thing slightly heavy, it is top heavy and can be knocked over with a gust of wind. Two days into using this the buttons stopped working. Meaning the dimmers won’t work at all, the timers won’t work at all, and only the power button will work if you unplug and then plug it back in- and it will give you a 5 minute window to then turn back on. After figuring this out I turned it off- it now magically turns on and off on a whim, and I now have to unplug it, turn it on, pray it stays on, and unplug when I’m done. That’s not such a big deal, but I did buy this for the dimmers and timer, otherwise I could have just bought a grow light bulb and turned that on and off manually myself with a light switch. Any movement around this causes it to topple over, and honestly it’s just not as bright as the pictures lead you to believe. Your better off buying a more expensive light for an extra 30- absolutely do not recommend.

Acceptable, but not the best! Investigating other grow lights
I think this device works... kinda. BLUF: my plants responded when I started using the Taurusy grow light. Lots of new growth and shiny waxing looking health leaves! I bought 3 of them. first and second light are working fine. The third one initially worked but then suddenly stopped. it receives power from outlet, but the "blue" button on the timer is solid and no other buttons work. Light does now come on. tripod legs are "ok", but I agree that the overall stability it poor. It was easy enough to assemble, but just seems to be lacking a good "sturdiness" (meaning it's wobbly and easily collapses down into itself when you attempt to adjust height). As for the size, I wish there was an option to "clip on" or hang above the plants. Mine are on plant stands and the 55" height will be overrun in about a year if the plants height continues to rocket up Operating directions are poor! It basically tells you what the light colors are for, but not how to choose just white, or red (blue). If my plant is not is its "flowering season" - how do I just choose white and not full spectrum? The directions are really lacking!

Saved my lemon tree
I've had this light for a couple weeks and it has saved my lemon tree. Poor lemon was down to 9 leaves, we have very short days and it was a goner. After a couple weeks with this light 12 hours a day, it's bursting with new leaves. I set it up with the included stand. The pole is very lightweight and the wires run outside the pole, so wires dangling off the side so it's not the most attractive or stable, but it's $25 so I didn't expect an attractive floor lamp. I like that it's adjustable, both up and down and horizontally, i pushed it pretty low so lemon gets concentrated light. The lights aren't super strong so I don't think it would be good for more than 2 medium size plants unless they're fairly low light plants. The timer is nice but it doesn't really work for multiple days. I picked 12 hours and it went for 12 hours then turned off but didn't stay off for 12 hours so after a week it was coming on in the middle of the night so I just start the 12 hours each day and it's fine. For the money, this has worked great for me but I wouldn't want to have it in the living room or any place where I care about how things look.
