I gave this 5 stars even though I returned it. The casting and quality were excellent. I returned it because the angle was too high for my application of a converted guitar. It held the strings to high above.

I had to drill a couple new holes but no big deal you can't even see the old ones. The tail piece is absolutely an excellent product and priced way below other competitors. The finish is beautiful and it has made a difference in the sustain on my mando. If you're looking for a cast tail piece I highly recommend this one. Stringing my mando is much easier now as well.

Great product, as others have said the,angle is wrong but it wasn't hard to get it where I wanted it with a little modification.

good quality for the price, however, the angle is a bit extreme for an F style instrument. It does work, though not a perfect fit is still serviceable.

I build mandolins and when I saw this I had to try one, so far I see no quality difference between this and much more expensive ones. It ships directly from China so it takes a little while to come.

Pot-metal tailpiece is great for the price. However the angle of the backplate to the top is so extreme that I had to bend it almost 30 degrees to make it usable on an f style mandolin. When I saw it, I was disappointed beyond words as I'd taken in a mandolin for repair and the gentleman had two shows lined up over the next 3 days and was in a panic. I couldn't get a standard tailpiece from anyone more quickly than I could from Amazon, so I gave it a try. Yes it works. Yes I am a master luthier. Yes it took me an hour and a half to alter the mandolin and the tailpiece to make them work. The mandolin is louder than it was. The mandolin has far greater sustain, but if you are not a master luthier, or at least damned handy you're going to have a tough time making this work because it is not a replacement item.

Good quality, excellent design. Will buy again.
