Every year we harvest our green herbs and dry them and use these jars as a perfect gift of greens to our friends! Consistent airtight kids to keep the odors inside and clear glass to see the beautiful herb.

Jars are beautiful and they have a great seal.

These are beautiful and useful canning jars but you cannot use them following the same methods used for Ball jars. The company website gives instructions that must be followed to have success.The main differences are:You cannot fill these jars past the base of the neck of the jar. So if a recipe calls for 1/4 inch head space you will have to ignore that. Since I live at a high altitude and you have to add more head space at higher altitudes anyways, it really isn't an issue for me.You are to screw on the lids tightly, but not too tightly, which is basically the same as with Ball jar lids. These lids are BPA free however which gives them a big advantage. Plus, it's just easier to manage a one piece lid.After you have process these jars for the time called for in your recipe, you are to move the water bath canner off the heat and allow the jars to cool under the water in the canner until cool enough that you can remove them by hand. You are to handle them by the jar only and not by the lids. This is important because the sealing compound on these jars is still pliable until they have been completely cool for a bit. So, if you are processing multiple batches you shouldn't use these since you have to let them cool for awhile on the canner before removing. I typically do small batches so this isn't an issue for me.Once they have been filled and processed you cannot stack these jars for storage. Also, the manufacture adds that these are not meant for pressure canning.So there are definitely some big differences when using these jars, but for me the differences don't really change much about how I do things that matter to me. I prefer a one piece lid and I love that they are BPA free. That being said, these jars that take the 70mm lids can be used with the regular mouth 2 piece lids from other companies.

Excellent for canning. The lids seal as they should. The jars themselves are quite lovely and I will use them to share some of the items I am canning. Love them enough that I’ve ordered them twice now.

Great jars for extra spice

I bought these Bormioli canning jars to make yogurt in (I incubate large batches in my oven using the proofing feature).There is very little available choice for specific glass yogurt pots with lids, and all the ones I found seem to have issues with their lid staying on during transport (I take the yogurt to the office to eat as a snack).These pots are just the right size, 1 cup; I'm planning on experimenting by adding fruit compote at the bottom.SInce they're canning jars, the lid tightens well and will not come off during transport, turning your lunch bag into a goopy mess.The sets are well boxed and arrived intact (mail ordering glass products is always a little bit of a gamble, I had ordered nice Bormioli glass bowls a while back and all I received was glass shards in a thin box).They're also great if you want to make small quantities of preserves, and they will look very nice as part of a homemade goodies basket. Great product at a very reasonable price.
