Solid - Cheap Option for Small Outboard Motors
Sadly, small motors don’t get much love in the transom saver space. I was hoping MotorMate would make one geared for smaller Yamahas but doesn’t seem to be in the cards.I trailer my boat about 25 miles one way to my nearest lake/ramp access. Much of this is on the highway but the backroads are busted. I wanted something to limit the motor bouncing during transit and this was the best option I could find. For the price, it’s held up very well. I’m supporting a Yamaha 40hp so not a huge motor. I don’t have a rear roller on my trailer so I drilled in the center of the last bar. I elected to use stainless nylon lock nuts and longer stainless bolts to secure my bracket than what was supplied. My boat occasionally sees saltwater so it seemed work the investment.Despite the “flimsiness” of the rod, it hasn’t bent or shown signs of stress. I’m happy with the purchase and would recommend for <50hp motors. For anything bigger, look at some of the other aftermarket options that are beefier.

Must have for boats.
Bought for my 15ft boat with 29hp engine. It definitely makes a big difference having it. Easy to remove and great quality. Was easy to install and very stable.

Good transom saver
Been using this for a few years now on my classic Boston Whaler and its 33hp outboard. Works great.

Needed to Replace Previous Transom Saver
I had this same transom saver. It is cheap because it is made cheap. It broke when my motor slipped during transport. Saved my transom, but destroyed the transom saver. So, I bought the same one. It is cheap insurance. Much needed if you trailer your boat.
