This heat cap is a Really nice cosy fit the material is strong and soft on the head. The instructions says 40 seconds to heat in the microwave which I think is sensible however wasn’t hot enough for me. I heated mine for 2 mins just be careful when putting the bonnet on as it can get HOT!!!. Make sure you massage all areas of the bonnet especially the middle for good heat distribution. The edges get hotter first. I would say heat in stages I liked my warmer than instructed which worked perfectly for my conditioning treatments. I loved the fact that I could walk around the house and do my chores without being restricted by a plug in bonnet. Definitely worth purchasing if you want a luxurious pampering spa 🧖🏾‍♀️ experience for your hair. My hair came out moisturised and beautifully conditioned. It takes a little longer than expected to heat up and actually become warm enough, but it does definitely warm up after putting in the microwave for a little longer. Another thing which bothers me a little is that it’s a little heavy and isn’t easy to multitask with, many times ive had to just sit with it because it gets too heavy for my neck. Other than this, it does what it says and is definitely great for when you’ve got a mask on because the heat generated opens pores on the scalp and allows product to penetrate deeply into the roots.

The product arrived quickly first of all which was great, just in time for hair wash night. It was heavy like some others had said but to me that just made it feel more sturdy and solid. I heated it for 3mins as opposed to the suggested 15secs and find that that keeps the heat for my 30 to 60 min treatments. It’s a great invention and I love its portability, after putting a treatment on I was able to pick my daughter up from the station when she called unexpectedly, I’d never have been able to do that if I was plugged up to an electric socket. I’ve used it every week since I got (several weeks ago) it and no issues. Make sure you scrunch the hat up after heating to ensure the heat spreads through the hat for full head coverage. I’m recommending it to everyone who cares to listen 😊

This heat cap works well for my wife’s low porosity 4c hair and hair deep conditioning works really well with this product being used together it seems well made out of good quality materials and seems made to last too its quite heavy but my wife says it doesn’t feel to bad when on her head so that’s good it does take a lot longer to warm up than the instructions state though quite a lot longer to be honest and it doesn’t hold heat long unfortunately after 10 minutes its lost 60-70 precent of its heat which can be quite annoying because my wife has to reheat hers half way through so its a 50/50 type product It does leave my wife’s hair feeling soft and moisturiserized pretty good though so its got pros and cons shop around a bit before committing to this one i would say

Fabulous product especially for someone with a big head and loads of hair. So easy to use for weekly treatment or more if you needed. Would advise getting some disposable shower caps although I have used supermarket bags which I can then rinse after re-use. The cap helps the treatment, oil, conditioner etc to be absorbed gently and is great for spa like relaxing or just getting on with your everyday stuff at home. You’re left with healthy feeling, soft and silky hair. It’s worth noting that using the RIGHT treatment/conditioner for YOUR hair will give the best results and also give the cap a ‘squish’ or quick massage with you hands before popping on your head to distribute the heat through the gel.

I dislike this product because my shower is far away from my microwave and the product loses heat between the two areas. It’s made to help conditioner penetrate into your hair further so this means i am in the middle of having a shower so am wet whilst I run down to the microwave, shivering whilst I wait for it to heat up and then can’t get the temperature right on the cap, not warm enough at first and then scorching!! I also nearly went arse over tit going through my living room which is laminated on the way there AND on the way back. Not the caps fault directly but not for it, I wouldn’t have had to leave my shower to go to my kitchen. Works the same if not better is clingfilm round my hair, then foil and then a woolly hat. I can see wha they are trying to do and I do believe they are decent people, the leaflet that came with the cap about hair care showed deep understanding about hair nourishment and also a keenness to genuinely help people with their hair silkiness.

As some of us move towards and embrace natural methods of looking after ourselves I believe we also begin to embrace notions of how we can be more environmentally responsible - not using up resources such as the prolonged use of electricity. Of course, the process of manufacturing any product uses up resources, but this cap for example, once made, can be re-used and re-used following the brief blast of microwave heat - or soaking in hot water - as opposed to the constant heat from an hair dryer, etc, for long periods. Despite a few negative reviews about the sizing and weight of this cap, I have found it to be a really good fit, certainly not too tight or heavy, and to retain heat for between one and a half to two hours. I prepare it by placing it in the microwave in 30 minute intervals for two minutes in total. After each 30 minute blast I take it out of the microwave and gently distribute the gel within the pockets of the cap - wearing thick rubber gloves, because of course the contents is hot - (use a thick towel instead of the gloves if prefered to distribute the gel). I use the cap by applying my conditioner of choice to my hair; then covering my hair with a thin plastic cap followed by this heat cap, and get on with things for the next two hours. (I then rinse my hair with lukewarm water, then cold Rice Water, and apply a natural oil sealant - Coconut Oil - to retain moisture). I would have given a five star review for this order, but chose not to because the supplier of this particularly cap also offered a head massager as part of the purchase, which has not been received despite my requesting it. The product itself is excellent.
