Great Target bag!
After using straw bales for years I decided to buy a bag target. The Hurricane is the size I was looking for, about 30" x 30". Its light enough that I can carry it out to the yard and set it up, and its large and stable so it can stand alone. I set mine backed up to a wire fence just in case it tips, not touching or leaning on it, but so far it hasn't budged a bit. Right now I'm shooting a 25 - 30 lb. long bow that's really made for light target practice, and an 80 lb. pistol cross bow. At 12 - 15 yards, the arrows penetrate about 4 - 5 inches and the bolts go it about 3 - 4 inches. They are very easy to remove (tip: make sure your arrow tips are the same diameter as the arrow shaft or they will be harder to pull out and they will fray the bag more at the edges of the hole. I had to replace my tips that were slightly larger). The holes close up pretty well after shooting too. I can see this lasting for years, especially if you store it indoors when you aren't using it. I just bought a 40 lb. re-curve take down bow, but haven't used it yet, but I expect it will perform great.

Stopped crossbow bolts
Stopped crossbow bolts (440fps) at 30 yards and 40 yards - did not try 20 yards. Bought the largest size. It is heavy. Bolts and arrows come out reasonably easy; have an older bag by the same company- arrows come out easier than with this, but was afraid it would not stop crossbow bolts. Would love a better target pattern- mine came in mostly white unlike what is shown, with some greenish circles- but I can always tape a target on it or apply an orange dot to it.

A large affordable target that can take a decent amount of abuse.
I started using this target in mid-December 2020. Since then it has taken between 3500-4000 hits. When I first started using it, I was also just starting archery, so initially I kept my shots towards the center. It quickly became apparent that this wasn't sustainable, as concentrated fire in the same area was causing premature wear. After the first few weeks I started spreading my shots out. Soon after I painted some additional dots on the target for aiming points. This let me make better use of some of the negative space on the target. You can see from the pictures that the target is looking pretty shot up, with a couple of areas looking just about shot out. Fortunately, replacement covers are available (perhaps not from the original brand) that can help you extend the life of the target without the full replacement cost. I've been using a variety of traditional style bows (longbows/recurves) from 30-50#. I have never had any problems with pass through, or even poke through, except when I shoot too close to the edge of the bag. For the first few months I diligently took the bag down when I wasn't using it and carried it back inside. Moore recently I've been taking it down but leaving it outside. Judging from the fading, and texture of the bag, the UV is really tearing it up. I wouldn't recommend leaving it outside like I've been doing. I shoot a variety of wooden and carbon arrows. How easily the arrows pull free from the bag depends entirely on how flush the point/insert/shaft are fitted. Some of my arrows have a small ridge from the insert, these catch a bit. The only point I've lost inside the bag came from shattering a wooden shaft with another arrow. Part of the arrow fell free, the rest stayed in the bag. Meh. Since getting this bag, I've also acquired a compressed foam sheet target (Big Boy targets). Arrows pull out of the bag target far easier. I plan to continue using the bag target because even though it's the largest size, it is still fairly portable. It's also nice to have multiple targets when friends come over and wish to challenge your skills. Like almost everything else in archery, a bag target is ultimately a consumable, and will eventually wear out, and need to be replaced. The best things you can do to extend the life of your target; 1. Use the whole surface. Spread your shots around. 2. Use both sides of the target 3. Try shooting from different angles. This can help utilize the outer edges and sides. 4. Don't leave the target outside when not in use, particularly in strong sun. 5. Finally, when it seems like the target is done for, consider getting a replacement cover. Especially if you haven't lost any of the filling yet. This is much cheaper than a new target. -Cheers

Great Bag Target For A Good Price!
I'm very happy with this target. The target zones are easier to see at a distance than I expected. I like having the deer vitals on the back, with the heart in red. The H28 is big enough to make practicing 50 - 60 yard long shots easier. I have fewer arrows to chase or hunt for! This target is durable and stable so it doesn't get knocked over easily. It is a bit on the heavy side, but that was expected and the carry handle makes it manageable. I haven't had any arrows go all the way through yet, even with many hits to the same spot at close range. It works well with my 70# Bear compound and even my 45# Ben Pearson recurve. Arrow removal is what I have come to think of as normal with bag targets. A simple clockwise twist and pull with a bit of a yank at the end to get the field point past the cover material. I had a lesser bag target last me a couple years with frequent shooting. I expect this one will last even longer.

I wish I could give this 3.5 stars because 3 feels too low but 4 stars seems too high. Anyway, let me explain... The pros: 1. It's a very tough bag. I've seen it stop arrows from 70# compounds at point blank range. In fact, I regularly shoot mine point blank at home with my 50# horsebow and heavy wooden arrows. It took almost a year of constant point blank shooting before I had to retire my bag. 2. It's cheap. You won't find another butt this big and tough for the price. 3. It's big. Like I said, most targets at this price will be smaller, and sometimes having a bigger bag gives you more options. Now let's discuss why I wanted to give it 3.5 stars. The Cons: 1. Yes it's a tough bag, but that also means that weaker bows have trouble getting arrows to stick in to it. When it's brand new there's no problem but as the bag starts getting wear and tear the inner foam isn't quite as condensed and this makes it harder to stick arrows in it. If your bow is 30# and below and you shoot at more than 15 yards, be prepared for some of your arrows to bounce off. Or even if they don't bounce off, your arrows will kinda stick but flop downwards or will flop sideways, then it becomes very easy to hit your arrow with your next one. I've seen quite a number of broken arrows because the arrows don't exactly stick to this but completely straight. 2. Once it starts wearing out there's no way to replace its parts. Some butts will have replaceable heads or inserts, this has none. This gets torn up and that's it. 3. It's kinda messy when it starts wearing out. Then again, I guess every butt does it. Just that I keep having to stuff foam back into this once it gets shot up. In the end, the only thing that really bugs me is how it tends to spit out arrows once it starts getting shot up.
