As flat as is possible to make

Well made. Good quality lens. As flat as could possibly be made (only as thick as the lens). So when stored in a pocket, you don't know it's there and it doesn't show through a jacket/suit. The hinge on one side of mine was too tight and almost impossible to open but fortunately I had a set of watchmaker screwdrivers to use the smallest Philips Drive to loosen it off a fraction. Someone else, less endowed with screwdrivers, might have returned them.

Decent quality optics, sit flat in the pocket

Not sure how scratch resistant these will prove in their case but all is perfect out of the box.
