A bit plain on its own, but makes a great base for a quick stir fried rice!
Personally, I've found that what this rice lacks in flavor, it makes up for in versatility, and convenience. It works well for making a quick vegetable stir fry, since it lets to skip the step of pulling out the rice cooker and cooking some rice to fry up. It doesn't have a lot of flavor on its own, but this means it works well as a base for other dishes. Additionally, it gives you a little helping of veggies to start with, and then you can add any additional veggies and proteins you want.I'd say we were able to make enough vegetable stir fry for two or three people using this package as a base, maybe four if you used it as a side alongside something else. I've found that it pairs really well with sesame oil, soy sauce, onions, mushrooms, and chicken. These packages of rice are definitely higher in cost than cooking up some rice and fresh, or frozen, veggies yourself, so I find they're best saved for situations when you're on time constraints, and need to whip up a home-cooked meal quickly. The texture is pretty similar to homemade rice in that it's tender and not mushy like some instant rices I've tried, though I'd say it's a little drier.Overall, these packages of garden vegetable rice are great for times when you need to whip up a homemade lunch or dinner fast.

Versatile rice for a flavorful meal
At our house, we often eat Ben's Original rice, Spanish-style, paired with a protein and some vegetables as part of a complete meal. While we have cooked it several ways before, including microwaving and heating up in a pan, we find that it tastes better and has a better texture when cooked in the pan or skillet. Additionally, it is much easier to separate the rice and break the big chunks when it is in a pan. This rice is flexible enough to be eaten along with chicken or seafood, whether mixed or on the side. Absolutely flavorful with the right amount of seasoning. I have no complaints. It is fast and convenient and we'll keep eating it in the future.

Lots of instant Basmati rice
First, know that these are family-sized packets. They require no refrigeration and will sit happily in your pantry prior to use. Each of them contains over a pound of light, tasty Basmati rice! That's enough for four generous side dishes or two main dishes (that contain a lot of rice). I have to say that I don't like to heat up *anything* in plastic, and that includes this rice. Plastic leeches forever chemicals and endocrine disrupting estrogen mimics into everything, especially when heated. It's just as easy to empty a packet into a deep dish, cover, and microwave it there - which is what I did. It surely comes out better that way. I recommend adding a bit of water to the rice prior to heating, say a tablespoon or two, depending on your intent. Is it as good as traditionally prepared Basmati rice? No, but it's not bad, especially for two minutes of non-work. It's got a bit of nuttiness, good flavor and good mouth feel. It's great with peas and butter and it absorbs sauces readily. Overall, I'd say that if you are in need of quick, easy side dishes for two or more people, this rice will fit the bill.

Plain
I found these quite plain in flavor and needed to season on my own. They are convenient but with needing to doctor the product, it isn't as quick and simple.

I guess this is kind of an acquired taste.
You'd think that white rice would just be white rice all the time. But no, basmati rice is a little different. It's different enough to be unusual, but I wasn't that crazy about it. It's hard to pin down what the difference is, exactly, but if you like basmati rice, you could definitely do a lot worse.

Taste Good, a little bit dry.
This Spanish style flavored rice taste pretty good and it is convenience and easy to heat up with microwave. The rice is a little bit dry and I usually add a little bit of water to make it softer, its just a personal preference.

Extremely quick and easy to cook; flavor and texture is fine
You get 6 bags of rice, each of which is 17.3 ounces. As you can see in my pictures, a single bag fills up a standard Cool Whip container.First of all, this is incredibly easy to make. You just tear a slit on one side and pop it into the microwave for 2 minutes, and then it’s ready. It would be very difficult to screw this up. It’s definitely not remotely close to being as economical as buying a bag of rice, cooking it, and flavoring it yourself, but you probably get your money’s worth when it comes to convenience and fool-proofness.As for the flavor, I do not normally get these types of products. I usually get brown rice and cook it in the Instant Pot. I then add whatever I want to that to flavor it. So, I can’t really compare how this tastes to similar products because I don’t know what those similar products taste like. The texture of this rice is definitely not as good as the rice I usually make, but it’s certainly not bad. It’s also not mushy, which is good. The flavor is not particularly strong, but there’s definitely enough there to where I felt fine eating this without trying to doctor it in any way. I wish it had some more spice and a more robust flavor, but it was fine as-is.Really, I would say that “fine” is the most apt descriptor of this product. I don’t love it, and I will never crave this, but I don’t mind eating it, and I won’t have any problem making my way through these 6 bags.

its uncle bens microwave rice (basmati)
so, as I said: Its Uncle Ben's microwave-ready basmati. That means in terms of quality, it is better than the main "microwave-ready, bagged rice" competitor you see at the store, and a little worse than freshly made Uncle Ben's quick-cooking, and significantly worse than freshly made traditional basmati. That's just how it is--freshly made is less sticky and nuttier and "cleaner" tasting. What this DOES bring to the table is ease and speed. Sometimes, you have something you've made and you decide late in the game to do a side of rice to put it on....maybe the pan sauce is too thin and abundant and you don't want to waste it. Maybe you realize you need more rice, mid-meal. In cases like that, these are amazing to have around for that last-minute rice. Not as good as made from scratch, but still pretty good and doable without waiting almost a half hour. For what it is, this is better than many other instant microwave rice offerings. And they are worth having around. Good enough to give it four stars, happily. Will buy again.
