Encyclopedia of World History: 1 (Usborne Encyclopedias)

I bought this for my nine year old because he's interested in history. I wanted him to be able to learn more about world history so that he's inspired to think beyond English school syllabus. This did it. He's been devouring it, and says it was one of his favourite birthday presents. It covers so many different cultures and has brilliant illustrations.

This book REALLY deserves a review. It’s absolutely beautiful and AMAZING. 5 stars out of 5! It’s a book that teaches you the history of the world from the dinosaurs to the year 2000AC. Perfect for both adults and children. It’s absolutely FULL of beautiful coloured illustrations and photos. I decided to take pictures of some beautiful illustrations and pages from the book as the ad doesn’t show any, which it’s a shame. Highly recommended.

Great book

Gives pretty good general accounts of famous events in history and very helpful for homework for 12 year olds, interesting read for adults, too.

The pictures are excellent and it’s got tons of content I often read it when the kids aren’t around too

Usborne are perfect for giving your child a taster for things and this book doesn't disappoint. My nine year old can dip in and out of this book depending on his study and he has learned some fascinating facts.

Great illustrations, captivating for elementary or even kindergarten students. Concepts are concise and simple with lots of visual stimulation for younger kids. Definitely a must have for any library especially for homeschooling. We use it as a part of a curriculum. I love the sturdiness of every page not just the cover. It also has word lists and world time charts in the back. It goes from the very beginning, dinosaurs, Neolithic to all civilization and wars, till discussing current issues like climate, cinema, technology, human rights…

We purchased this to accompany the history curriculum "The Story of the World". It is a beautiful resource that is full of engaging illustrations and detailed information. Our children love to read it and always have excellent questions and observations after spending time with it.
