How long does it feed a hive?

It depends on how many bees ar in the hive as well as the conditions that they are feeling with. I have 2 hives. One needed food in late February and the other still had food stores. Since I opened them both up I put a fondant package in each. The one that needed food ate it in about 3-4 weeks the other hive never touched their fondant so when the hive that needed the food went through it all I took the package from the hive that never touched it and gave it to the one with no food stores left and they are eating it still to this day and I nj where I live the bees are flying and bringing back pollen and I would assume early nectar on days that are above 50 degrees. I’d think a hungry and desperate colony could go through a 1 kilogram package in a month or less depending on temperatures and if weather or not any thing is blooming.
