disappointing - spoiler alert!
Started strong but after Charlie escaped from the shrimps house it turned into nothing but repetitive love letters and journal entries between the two characters. I skimmed over a lot of it because it didn’t add anything to the plot. The language a lot of the time was unrealistic, I have never met any 14-18 year olds that speak the way Charlie and Silas do so many times throughout this book. The ending, and reason behind the memory loss, was disappointing and left a lot of questions unanswered - the shrimp and her mother…why did they lie to Charlie about her name? Why did they really keep her captive? Why did they have hospital gowns and medicines/needles/sedatives to hand? Why did shrimps mother lie to Silas? Why was Silas’ bed sheets covered in mud and blood the night before it all started? Gave it 2 stars because I enjoyed the first half of the book but was looking forward to a huge twist that never came, the ending was so unsatisfying and the epilogue was even worse. This book left me frustrated and disappointed after LOVING the first 5 of Colleens books that I read.

Actually really enjoyed this. A lovely story that keeps you guessing and trying to figure out what’s going on. 100% recommend it.

Average read
Not my favourite Colleen Hoover book. Its was fine, took a while to get through it. Felt a little anticlimactic and silly at the end. Probably wouldn't recommend.

Mysterious, Romantic, and Completely Unputdownable
Never, Never is one of those books that pulls me right back in every single time...and this was my second read-through, and I swear it hit even better. Teenage angst? Check. Mystery? Double check. Memory loss with a romantic twist? Absolutely. But what makes this story so special is the simple, aching truth underneath it all: this isn’t a “new love” story…it’s a rediscovery of a love that has always been there. Charlie and Silas waking up with no memory of each other, yet somehow being drawn together, is one of my favorite tropes done to perfection. The tension, the confusion, the pull they can’t explain...it’s addictive. Their chemistry feels both brand-new and deeply familiar, and watching them piece together who they once were versus who they might become now? That’s the magic of this book. CoHo and Tarryn Fisher blend mystery, romance, and YA emotion so seamlessly that you can’t help but devour page after page. The clues, the twists, the heartbreaking realizations…all wrapped in that nostalgic, “first love” feeling that never really fades. This book is fun, twisty, emotional, and totally bingeable. And honestly? I loved it just as much, maybe even more, the second time around. 💜 LOVE! THIS! BOOK!
