I have 2c/3a hair and have been transitioning using the curly girl method for over 6 months now. The past month I’d lost a lot of definition because I’d been over moisturising my hair and not using any protein until recently (a beginners mistake). My hair is also easily weighed down so I wanted a strong styling product I would only need to use a little of. And on top of that I have a very sensitive dry scalp so Ecostyler had a lot to contend with! However I’m very happy to say I have found my holy grail product. My hair has never looked so defined, my curls are popping all over my head. I love the consistency - it’s thick and you can tell it gives a good hold when you rub it between your fingers but as you spread it over your hands it becomes thin and not sticky. A little goes a long way so whatever amount you usually use half it and then add more if needed as you go. It didn’t create a crunchy cast, there was a bit of a cast but I just scrunched it out as I normally would. It didn’t affect my scalp, most gels do so I was impressed.The one down side is it is not very moisturising. For me this is fine, I don’t need a lot of extra moisture but I do think in future I’ll use a little leave in before applying. Also if your hair doesn’t like protein I imagine this will make it feel like straw. But if it does it’s fantastic plus it’s great value for money I was so shocked by how big the tub was and you barely need to use any.

Giving 4 stars as package arrived damaged. These tubs last a long time which is why I buy them.I do think they should be wrapped better for transit. Mine has a massive crack down the side from under the lid to the base. Luckily I have an old tub to transfer this in to.

CHECK THE BAD REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING THIS ITEM!THIS IS SECOND TIME I RECEIVE THIS ITEM DAMAGED. I THOUGH IT WAS A DELIVERY ISSUE BUT IT IS NOT!The container is very thin and cracked inside the delivery box, and some of the gel spread inside the box with other items that i bought. THIS SELLER SHOULD PROVIDE A BETTER QUALITY CONTAINER TO AVOID THIS ISSUE.I CAN SEE THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS ITEAM

Non flaking but doesn't hold my hair well.
