Hooded Scarves Book 2-Cozy Gifts to Make in a Weekend-Bonus On-Line Technique Videos Available

I love most of the styles offered here and the one's I'm not that fond of can be improved with a change of yarn style/color. I just finished "Cherie" in Caron Simply Soft in sunset, a red/brown/pink mix. It came out really nice and I'm sure my mother-in-law will love it next winter.It was very easy to follow the pattern with the trickiest part for me being the super long beginning chain. I used removable stitch holders to count off the chain in 25 stitch increments but I still ended up 2 stitches short and had to start over. The pattern is a simple 2 row repeat so it works up really fast and you don't have to keep constantly following along with the book so it makes it easy to work on while watching TV.The booklet offers video instruction on the companies web site but I've had mixed results with that. Sometimes, when I go to the web site I don't have any trouble finding the videos and other times I can't find them at all. I've emailed the company about it but they have never gotten back to me. That being said, even beginners should be able to follow these patterns if you have a good teaching yourself crochet book. (The "Teach Yourself Visually" series and the "Illustrated Knitting & Crocheting" series are two good ones.) You basically need to know how to make a beginning chain, single crochet and double crochet stitches and this booklet provides easy to follow directions for any variations on those basic stitches needed to complete the projects.Great book with lots of fun easy projects that people will actually want to wear.

The book came shrink wrapped with the package sticking to the book. I had to pull it off like peeling off a sticker. Other than this the book is great!

Instructions were clear and easy to follow for a novice.

I love any pattern book that does not make the crafter stick hard and fast to color, yarn brand and gauge. The designs in this book are not complicated, and can be varied, depending on the level of experience of the crafter. Good book to have if you have loved ones that live someplace that it snows.....

I can see making every single one of these scarves. The directions are in nice big print with colors to distinguish rows. The pictures are from multiple angles and with different ways to wear the scarf, and all the difficulty levels are given. The stitch patterns are also creative with a good use of color. I am excited to be able to work on these for presents and for myself!

I was looking for a close knit hooded scarf pattern to keep the air out on blustery days. I haven't been able to find a knitted pattern so settled for crochet, these patterns are beautiful. I'm looking forward to making the scarf on the cover, it looks to be tight enough weave to keep the wind out.

I just love these patterns. I have the Book 1 of Hooded Scarves and I thought those patterns were wonderful but these are even better (don't you just love it when the sequel is better than the original?). People seem to really like these things as gifts, I found that out when I started making the scarves from Book 1. Now I can give more of them to the same people because the patterns will be different.

Not as many projects in it and not many pictures to go by but the instructions are well written.would recomend this book to friends

Working my way through the first pattern and so far its going well. The directions are good and I would say a confident beginner could probably do all the patterns included. I have never had an issue with a Leisure Arts pattern. Only 8 patterns but they are a varied mix of stitches

I haven't yet made any of these,but intend to shortly.I will change the pixie like point on the back of the head into something flatter and squared off.

the patterns do not include the graph. I think that would help to undestand how to make some of the scarves
