Namaji: A must have for game nights
I absolutely love Namaji! Itâs super easy to learn. You can introduce it to friends and family without a lengthy explanation, ensuring everyone can jump right in and have fun. The game's design is visually appealing, with vibrant artwork that enhances the overall experience. The mechanics encourage strategic thinking while still being accessible, making each round exciting and engaging. Whether youâre looking for a game to play with your partner or a larger group, Namaji fits the bill perfectly.

Standalone sequel that's even better than Tokaido
We love Tokaido and were excited to try this. We love this even better. To be clear, it's not an "expansion" - you do not need to own Tokaido to play this, although some familiarity with that game may speed up learning this game. There's a little extra complexity, but in ways that enhance the game and make it more exciting without making it too hard. We've played 2-4 players and games take 30-40 minutes consistently once everyone knows the rules. We've played with as young as 7 years old and it's gone fine - minimal reading is needed. Like Tokaido, all of the game parts are absolutely beautiful and we're quite pleased with the quality of everything. This is a wonderful new classic that I've started enthusiastically recommending to family and friends.

Excellent twist on a modern classic
If you've never heard of Tokaido but you want a shorter modern board game with enough bits and peices to make it feel like you're making fun choices, you'll probably enjoy this game! If you've enjoyed the Tokaido expansions, you'll LOVE this game. If you hated the Tokaido expansions, you may be meh on this game. It's important to know that Tokaido is a similar, earlier board game designed by the same folks. This game adds interesting choices to the original idea of leapfrogging along a path, fighting for position and hoping you can get to your desired objectives. Both Tokaido and this game have a fair amount of luck but, this game, in the base game, has MUCH more luck than base game of Tokaido, for which I've docked a star. The fishing mechanic is inherently luck driven, yet is a huge aspect of the game. Lucky pulls there make for a fun, but swingy experience. And fishing mis-luck can be no-fun if you're not playing board games with the right attitude.Great art, great theme, great board design. A bit too lucky for 5/5, but a solid game that'll be in my rotation for a while.

Better than Tokaido??
I probably prefer this to Tokaido at this point. I often break it out as a good introductory game for people. Play with an ambient music playlist for some quality gametime that never gets too competitive and is not too complicated for beginners.

Great game.
Fun game. Looked complicated at first but, truly was easy for everyone to catch on and play. Ages 9-64 in our household) Not too short or too long. Definitely played different with more people (more challenging when others are blocking you). Everyone enjoyed it.

Delightful!
Beautiful art & fun gameplay. Just enough different from Tokaido to be worth having them both.
