desertcart.com: The Park of Sunset Dreams (Dare Valley Series): 9781940565095: Miles, Ava: Books Review: Ava outdid herself with this book. - The Park of Sunset Dreams is book 6 in the Dare Valley series by Ava Miles. I loved this book. It keeps up to the same standards as the first book. Jane Wilcox was delighted and even relieved to give up her disguise as Raven. Raven, along with her friend Vixen, was a secret poker scout for Rhett Butler Blaylock. For seven years she and Vixen had hung on Rhett’s arms while he played poker. No one realized they were anything other than poker babe. Now that Rhett decided to stay in Dare Valley to marry Abbie and raise a family, their disguises were no longer necessary. Rhett did still play in tournaments; but Jane and Elizabeth went with him as his dog walker and publicist. No one suspected they were the former Raven and Vixen. None of them wanted this information to get out as it could be embarrassing. Jane chose to keep his dog, Annie, and train her. Annie became close to her own dog Roscoe and it was deemed better for Annie to stay with Jane. Annie’s clothing allowance was abundant and Jane had fun buying and putting Annie in neat clothes. When he played poker, Rhett held Annie when possible. When they were not working, Jane would take both dogs on a daily walk. Then they would return home where she would review tapes of other poker players to see if she could catch something that would give them away at tournaments. Matthew Hale, his brother Andy, and his mother had moved back to Dare Valley. Matthew and Andy wanted a slower paced life that that of Denver. Their mother needed to get away from her ex-husband. She had finally had enough and left. Matthew set up his law practice and reveled in the amount of free time he had. He had brought Henry with him. Henry had belonged to a former client of his whom Matthew felt he had let down and that the system had not worked for. The only problem was that Henry did not mind Matthew at all. Matthew would take him for walks but it would be Henry who would get his way. That is until Henry met Jane. From the very first, Henry minded Jane. Matthew wanted her to teach him how to handle Henry. Jane agreed and they met each day towards sunset to walk the dogs and practice obedience. As Matthew and Jane got to know each other, Matthew found Jane was pretty closedmouth about her background. His brother googled her and found out she came from a prominent political family. For some reason, though, she was estranged from them. She was also a wealthy woman in her own right. However, the years between Harvard and now were blank. There was no trace of where she was. However, he felt that given time, she would trust him enough to tell him. Before that, however, he decided to run for mayor of Dare Valley and before he could tell Jane about it, she found out about it from someone else. She ran from him as she did not want anything to do with politics even though she loved him and he loved her. Can they get over this hurdle? Will Jane ever be able to tell him about Raven and what will his reaction be when she does? Will Henry ever mind Matthew? I loved this book and this series. Review: Fun romance - I loved how matt and jane met at the park. The author kinda switched their traditional roles. She also created a lot of unusual mole holes in their story. I was pleasantly surprised. This tale of Matt and Jane was a pleasantly slow build up to their relationship. It was nice seeing how they each grew in strength together along with their friends and family.

Poker Babe
Love this series. Who says you can't have it all? Every town has its things, good and bad. This town does too. Such great characters!!

One of my favorites in the Dare Valley series
The Park of Sunset Dreams by Ava Miles is the sixth book in her Dare Valley series. When the book first came out, it was my favorite out of the whole Dare Valley series. Since then, it's been eclipsed by The Bridge to a Better Life. Jane & Matt are both down to earth characters and very likable. I think fear that Jane had about her past coming to light is a fear that many of us have and it was portrayed accurately and sensitively. The writing is crisp, clean, and well done as I've come to expect from Ms. Miles' books. The whole series is excellent! Check them out and see!

Very enjoyable
Another unique story by a wonderful author. I loved learning more about wine, politics, poker and dogs! Strong, vibrant characters throughout the story. A couple bad words but not offensive like the books that can't get through a paragraph without one. Ava Miles has become one of my favorite authors!

Follow your Dreams.
A very different story not just another love story. Most other books I’ve read had no theme, this one had two or three other thing going on all the time. Could hardly wait until the end to see how everything was going to work out. Loved this book.

Highly improbable - making it so funny
I laughed a LOT. Had a great time visualizing the 2 Harvard brainiacs playing the parts of poker babes.... then the part of publicist and dog walker. Touch of brilliance with the wine expertise (total nonseclatur though) ... Great characters. Great progression of people finding out. Great solution. Wonderful insights about the dogs. I loved all of the characters. I was cheering them all on. I didn't want to skip any scenes or speed at all. I am eager to find the next book and learn what happens with Elizabeth and, maybe, the chef?

Dare Valley Series
The Dare Valley Series is so good, I'll keep them on my Kindle and read them again... Ava Miles is a writer right up there next to Nora Roberts, I plan to read all her books... I've read the Dare Valley Series and am now waiting for next book in the series, and I'm no my second book in the Dare River Series... they are so good I have trouble putting them down, but than I want to savior the read too... I hope she keeps on writing books for a very long time... and BTW.... you have to love her characters!!

Je regrette un peu cet achat. Je m' attendais à plus de suspense alors que c'est tout simplement une histoire d' amour contrarié comme tant d' autres.

It is a saga long winded story but a beautiful one. Jane and Matt are the lead characters but it is full of people - friends, family, and good hearted people and some trouble makers too. Quite nice.

Wow so just finished book 6 this series is so wonderful I've read 6 books in 2 days and loved each book. Matt and Jane have a lovely beginning its such a sweet funny meet cute but Jane is a mysterious woman and Matt being a lawyer he is determined to uncover the lovely mystery that is Jane, let's hope her secrets won't jeopardise his political aspirations. Who would have thought a dog walker and a lawyer would find so much to love about each other.
