Saphir Medaille d'Or Pommadier Cream 75ml – Natural Cream Leather Shoe Polish, Leather Conditioner for Boots, Handbags

This is hands down one of the best leather creams available. The texture is smooth and easy to work with, and a little goes a long way. It absorbs beautifully into the leather, restoring moisture while enhancing the color without leaving a heavy or greasy residue. After application, my shoes look noticeably healthier with a rich, natural sheen—not overly shiny, just perfectly conditioned. It works exceptionally well on high-quality leather and is ideal as a base layer before wax polish. I also appreciate that it nourishes the leather rather than just sitting on top. If you care about proper shoe care and want to extend the life of your leather shoes or boots, this is absolutely worth the price. A true staple in any serious shoe care routine.

I know you may be looking at this product and wondering if it is worth the price, and I would recommend you stop looking and start buying. This product is exceptionally effective. I’ve had these Ecco leather boots for nearly 10 years now. They’re my favorite boots, and as you can see they’ve been some places. During that 10 years I’ve never once conditioned or polished them. I would just wipe them down when they’d get dirty. You can see in the first two photos how the leather was worn and turning a greenish blue. So I ordered this black Saphir Crème 1925 cream polish, along with the Saphir Renovateur conditioner. I first removed the dirt from the boots with a brush that you’d use for dishes, and then applied the conditioner to the boots with an old but clean rag. I allowed it to soak into the leather and dry for a couple of days, while I was waiting for the polish to arrive. In the meantime I got lucky and found a Kiwi brand horsehair brush at my local Goodwill for $2.99. When the polish arrived, I removed the laces, put on a vinyl glove and grabbed the Kiwi brush, along with a scrap piece of soft cotton tee which is what I use at work to buff and polish freshly installed tile. I wrapped the scrap cotton cloth around my finger, dipped it into the jar of polish, and applied the polish to the boots one small area at a time. Immediately the leather was brought back to life, and I really couldn’t believe how much better it looked it at that point. You could stop there, and be perfectly happy if you prefer a matte finish to your footwear. I really wanted these suckers to shine personally, so after waiting a bit for the polish to dry, I performed the final step in this process and went over them with the Kiwi brush in swift, short strokes. My 10 year old boots now look absolutely beautiful. They still have some scratches that are visible, along with definitive creases in the toe area, but the older guys tell me that’s called character. I wouldn’t call the end result a mirror finish either, but these boots are more for walking and hiking than dancing, so I’m very happy with how they turned out. This cream/wax is really nice. A thin coats and your smooth leather boots/shoes can have a mirror shine. Here’s what I did to my Classic Black Thursday Captains. 1) brush your boots/shoes with a horse haired brush to get bigger pieces of dirt off. 2) clean off the boots with a wet rag to remove all loose dust and dirt. 3) apply a tiny amount of the colored wax onto the vamp and then quarter panel until you get a nice even haze. 4) once you get the entire shoe/boots covered wait about 10 minutes to let the wax soak into the leather. 5) brush and buff the shoe/boot to a mirror shine with a horse haired brush. 6) if you’re happy with the shine then stop. If you want a mirror shine get some water on a lint free rag and then buff the shoe/boots one panel at a time. 7) buff again with horse haired brush and you’ll have achieved a mirror shine. 8) check to see if you can see your own face or not. Lol. This colored wax is really nice to use on a black pair of boots after you condition your boots. I used the Cobblers Choice leather conditioner before applying the wax. I would put the conditioner on the boot first and give about 12hrs for the conditioner to soak into the leather. Then the next day, buff to a shine, and apply the Saphir product a quarter panel at a time and follow the aforementioned steps. I would try to use a soft cloth or a brush to apply the wax as it will stain your hands. You can also use gloves and apply the wax on with your fingers too but I used a brush to distribute the wax evenly and then buff to a mirror shine. It worked out perfectly imo. 3/13/2023 So I bought the dark brown to use on my Grant Stone Ottawa boots in crimson cxl because I have been in the hospital with my 7yo and while here at the hospital I accidentally opened a door on my brand new boots. I was not paying attention as I was half sleep half awake. The door ended up putting a huge gouge on the toe of my boots. I contacted GS immediately and they advised me to get a pigmented cream and cover up the gouge with it. I thought about taking it to a cobbler but I don’t have the time and honestly, I don’t mind a few scratches on my boots. I think it builds character. I used up using a q tip because the gouge was small enough that I didn’t need to use anything more to cover up the gouge. The color matched perfectly and if I wasn’t already aware of the gouge I don’t think the average Joe can see it. I am happy with the results although I should take it to a cobbler for them to blend it in but I just don’t have the time right now. Thanks in advance! 5/16/2023 Bought some beige cream to pair with my Dune Cxl Diesel boots from Grant Stone. As you can tell they were the perfect match although I had to do a lot of brushing to get the color to even out. At first it was very dull but after about 30 minutes of continuous brushing the part that I put the cream to polished nicely and now they make the boots look as if they were natural shell cordovan when it was only cxl. I like the results though.

Great product. Restores color to old black leather and conditions it. Make sure you buff it with a horse hair brush after application for a nice shine. This pair of boots was used and abused for many years. I left them in my garage for more than a year collecting dust. I was about to throw them away, but I decided to try the Saphir cream. I am satisfied with the results. I will keep wearing these boots for a few more years.

This is an expensive product but it really lives up to the hype. It has a maximum of pigments and allowed me to blend a repair with leather filler so it was invisible.

The product is great you need just a little to be applied to clean shoes. You will also need time for it to settle in. if you want to get the most out of this product expect to spend 2 days. Don't warry you will spend a total of 10-12 minutes per shoe though see below. 1. If really dirty and not conditioned ( you will feel leather to be stiff and as if its brittle), grab a shoe brush you don't use with creme, and brush the crusted dirt off vigorously. for awhile wash with warm water and saddle soap and a horsehair brush in circular motions don't be too gentle you need to lift the dirt from pores - leather can take it don't warry... it should take you about 3 minutes per shoe to fully leather it up. Do not wash under running water instead wipe the leather with moist paper towel, then wipe the rest with damp cloth towel. 2. Wipe with dry soft cloth and let gently air dry till almost dry. If only lightly soiled just do step 2. if you do not do step 1 and/or 2 you risk setting in the dirt with nasty streaks and will require visit to cobbler to get it out. 1. Once the shoes are ready and clean, take a horseshoe brush that has been used with polish or wax of the same color as your shoes, dab a bit of creme and apply in circular motions with gentle pressure. The surface of you shoes will loose all gloss and turn mate - this is fine. Do the second shoe while the first is soaking the oils from creme. spend about 3 minutes applying creme to the shoe. 2. While the second shoe is soaking the oils, come to the first shoe and buff it with a large horsehair brush. 3. It will take 3-4 minutes of buffing the whole of the shoe to bring up the shine - this will not be a gloss shine, more like high mate shine. now get to second shoe. 4. If you want slightly higher gloss buff up with microfiber cloth, otherwise leave the shoes be over night. Do not use microfiber cloth if you plan to not continue with step 5 (below) as well. 5. On the next day grab the shoe wax (its much more dense than creme because of higher concentration of oils) I used the high gloss one from saphir as well. Dab the brush in it you used to apply the creme and apply to the shoe in circular motions like you did creme. This product is much more solid and letting it soak will do nothing, the purpose is to apply the waxy polishable layer on your shoes. 6. Once applied to your shoe it will turn the surface dusty mate, do the second shoe now or proceed with buffing step six it does not matter what you do first. 7. Buff till you get the gloss come out. 8. Buff further to high gloss with microfiber cloth (best) or shoe polish cloth (expensive and specialized and no better than a rag of old microfiber cloth). Very important note: this product has heavy aromatic scent, it could be because of natural oils or maybe perfumed. To me its unpleasant and to most people in reviews the same is true. The smell lasts about a day and a half, at which point it will be so faint that unless you stock your nose right into the leather of the boot you will not feel it. Applying the saphir wax at this point will also remove this smell and return proper leather smell to the shoe. Very important note II: I saw in negative reviews that a lot of people see that this product does not bring the polish back to that of the factory. This is true to polish will be slightly less glossy than that of the factory, though the shoes will look nice clean and shiny. This is likely because there is a lot of beeswax on the factory fresh shoe, which does get removed during wash and also application of creme/conditioner. This is how it should be because if you do not remove the super wax you cannot nourish and hydrate the leather. If you want true mirror finish you'd want a special wax for that purpose. 1. Brown - 5 stars 2. Black - 5 stars 3. White - 3 stars - lacks pigment small gray scoffs will not come off from white shoes.

This stuff works wonders on all my leather shoes. I bought a pair of loafers on Ebay and did not notice the defect on the side of the right shoe. One application of the cream and the defect is barely noticeable. Now I don't have to return the shoes. It did darken the shoes a shade or two but I don't mind that. I now will use this on all my leather shoes instead of polish.

A while ago I bought my first Pair of Loake shoes, and then went on buying few more pairs. In the heat of moment, I was ready to spend on buying something premium to protect the shoes, and did my online search, ended up watching thehangerproject and decided to buy Saphir cream polish and wax polished. Having my first experience with Saphir Cream Polish, I will say it’s something very different from usual cheap stuff available in Tesco etc. It smells great, feels ingredients are pure and not just chemicals, and the end result is worth paying this much, it brings a new life in leather, and penetration is great, it’s high in pigments, restores the original look of the leather shoes, it brings only a moderate shine but leather looks nurtured and supple, and with just a slight buff of wax polish, your shoes will give an excellent shine and looks

This is amazing polish, the best quality I have used. It really is in a class of its own. Would recommend all Saphir products.
