Sharp Snips

These gardening scissors are really razor SHARP (like seriously, I almost cut myself taking them out of the package). They come in a three-pack which is pretty convenient since you can keep one pair by your computer for opening boxes and stuff. Speaking of keeping them everywhere, they're light enough to carry around without being too heavy or bulky. The blades are curved which makes it easy to get into tight spots and make precise cuts, and the spring-loaded action means less hand fatigue when you're using them for a long time. I can see why people with arthritis would like these snips.I really don't have any complaints about these shears. The locking mechanism is simple and effective, and they seem pretty durable. They do their job well, whether I'm trimming my bonsai or cutting open some packaging. Plus, they look nice too - not that looks matter much for gardening tools (but it's a bonus anyway). All in all, these are great quality snips at a reasonable price. If you need a pair of gardening shears, you should definitely consider getting these.

Sharp and make Clean Cuts

Love these for gardening! I love they are so sharp and make a clean cut. I use them to cut herbs and trim up plants in the garden. I hope to harvesting veggies with them in the summer. I also keep a pair in my car and use them for random things not gardening related because they are so handy to have around. They are great for opening packages, and cutting paper if needed. Don't put them in a pocket and forget about them because the point can cause damage to whatever you sit on if it's fabric or leather. Also, the price was great!

A fine and precision trimming instrument

Feels good in the hand, and is larger (5-10%?) in all dimensions than the comparable Fiskars trimmer, which costs about 2x this price. The blades bear against each other perfectly, and, on testing, I find I can even cut the thinnest piece of tissue paper with them, as a test of the blades' nesting together. If this matching or proximity of the blades should change, it's easy to tighten the Philips-head screw at the fulcrum of the tool.Handles are inlaid with non-slip rubber, a nice feature in case there's perspiration or precipitation when you're working.A great tool! Hats off, VivoSun!, and thanks.A minor quibble: I've become used to the action of the Fiskars. The VivoSun has a spring that's a bit stronger than Fiskars' spring. I'll either get "used to" this higher (greater) restoring-force that impels the blades apart, or I'll change the spring tension: How can I do that? Well, it's easy to remove the spring, and if I heat it in a gas flame on the stove, holding it with kitchen tongs or a pliers, and let it cool s-l-o-w-l-y, the tension of the hard spring may soften (this is "annealing"). IF I overdo the softening, I can heat it cherry-red again and plunge it into water to re-harden it. Simple. No hurry! Maybe I'll just get used to this stronger spring, and maybe it will also become a little weaker in force as I use it over months and years (yes, the construction of this trimmer is up to lasting years and decades, I'd say). The lock is very positive and easy to employ.Kudos! Again, a great tool, and it's a bargain.I'll use this on tomatoes, and other garden plants, for pruning and trimming of tender stems, and leaves.--Joe / Tucson AZ / USAUPDATE: May 29. 2021 >>>----> I've annealed (softened) the spring in the way I mention above, and it's just right now to my way of feeling and working. Another reviewer mentioned that he "shortened" the spring to reduce its tension, but, no need to cut it if you do the simple annealing of its hardness as I've outlined. Thus far, I've pruned six or seven cherry-tomato plants, and, oh yes, some of the larger fan-leaves from other plants that are now about 4 weeks into flowering. Excellent action of the pruner, and they are extremely precise. (BTW, laughable account by the reviewer who claims the stainless metal blades dissolved in isopropyl alcohol! Had a good chuckle... ). --JLMp.s. To protect the sharp ends and straightness of the precision-ground blade tips, I use a half of a wine-cork as a protector (you could trim the cork down further to make it more compact). This saves pockets from being punctured and perforated, too. ;-) I'll include a photo of the cork in place on the pruner tips, here with this edit. "Safety First!" A nice alternative to a cork would be to dip the tips into a can of the liquid "tool-handle" dip coating, like the "Plasti-Dip" which Amazon sells, and let that deposit harden-up until it's cured in a few hours (the Fiskars trimmer comes with a tip-protector like that). Best wishes trimming. -J.

Awesome Quality For A Reasonable Price!

I bought me these pruning shears to trim up all the plants in my garden in order to get everything ready for spring right around the corner. These shears came super sharp and worked perfectly right out of the box. I would buy these again for sure, the value for the money is hands down one of the best deals I've came across for these. This has to be the best few bucks I've spent in a long time!

Excellent quality! Easy to handle!

Love these! Somehow my old one’s, which were still excellent after 16 years, walked away. These fit comfortably in my hands and are easy to use. This is a handy tool with house plants and deadheading in the garden. They cut twine, string, dirt bags, and small branches like roses, etc. I use them almost daily.

Two year review, pros and cons

I bought these two years ago and have been using it frequently to prune my herbs and other plants. I store my gardening supplies outdoors but out of the rain, and I think I represent most casual gardeners' use for this product.Pros:It is still nice and sharp and does the job.The spring has held up quite well.Cons:Even though I store this out of the rain (but of course I'm not perfect and have left my tools out during a storm a few times) it still has acquired a noticeable amount of rust on the metal parts, especially in comparison to my other tools that are even older. The plastic slider that holds the blades closed wore out within weeks of use and is an absolute pain to close every time. I have to push the plastic aside with my fingernail and pray it slides on. Very annoying and cheap. In summary, it is a decent mini garden trimmer, but unfortunately the quality of the materials is lacking too much to give this a good rating.
