Zinc oil for a classic car
High zinc traditional oil for a classic car. We are using it in a 71’ VW beetle. It feels extra thick and we have noticeable less leaks than with a non-zinc oil of similar weight. Recommended if you have a classic car that needs zinc oil.

Great for older engines
This is my go to oil for a built sbc with flat tappet cam. 5 years later and Many 6500 rpm shifts later the camshaft looks great!

Valvoline has always been a reliable name so I’m not worried.
Had this for about three days since my oil change and so far everything feels good. Got it for an older engine that runs better on a thicker viscosity and no issues yet. Buying it as a case is handy and the price per quart is fair. Knocked off one star just because three days isn’t enough to say anything definitive, but first impressions are solid. Valvoline has always been a reliable name so I’m not worried.

What oil is best? Boy, there are online comment wars that go on forever. I use this oil in my 1930-31 Model A Fords. They seem to do well on this formulation which has more zinc than other oils, which helps these old design engines. Your opinion may be different. The funny thing is if the engines last a long time, or have problems, one person’s experience isn’t sufficient to draw a conclusion that predicts what your engine will do. Also, these 95 year old engines don’t have oil filters, so I change it every 750 - 1,000 miles. The original 95 year old instructions say every 500 miles but I’m guessing this stuff is better than what they had back in 1930.
