These bibs are absolutely THE BEST for adults in need. They have full coverage, are attractive, easy to put on and take off, can be sponged off as well as tossed in the washer. Kudos to Shorewood!

My mom has recently suffered an illness with a decline in strength. I purchase this for her because we were using hand towels to cover her since she was having increase spillage. She wanted me to sew her a few and I'm like let me see what my store of choice have and decided on these because they came in wide. The only downside is I only purchase one in the beginning. The size is perfect, it covers her entirely and is long enough to cover her lap too. Which I know people complained about the length but who do you know only spill food on their chest? It is in their laps and everywhere else honestly. The crumb catcher does not do a great job because of the length but she uses it to hold her teeth (dentures) when she is done eating. Don't ask. I didn't. Since I only purchase one I had to hand wash it for the next meal. And it is a good thing I did. I purchase the red-wide one (its really burgundy) and it bled like crazy the first 3 washes. I subsequently have purchase the blue one and a plaid one so she has one for each meal and I wash them all by hand at the end of the day. A great purchase. No need for pictures the one they have is an honest representation of the product. Update. Just wanted to note that the bleeding does stop after about 6 washes. I now machine wash all of them. If I haven't mention it before I have to say these things are awesome

This bib was chosen for a number of reasons. First, it comes in 2 sizes. The regular is perfect for Mom. She's 4'11" and the wide would be just too big; the length is perfect. Absorbent but liquids do not leak through to clothing. Side opening rather than in the back makes it easier to fasten. The velcro piece for closure is large enough to work with; snaps and small velcro closures are more difficult. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the color selection. I've purchased several of these after receiving the first. I've read that the darker colors may bleed so have stayed away from those (and most ARE dark colors). It would be awesome if they made some with lighter colors in solids and prints.

The Shorewood Medical is the best bib out of all of them. I got it in Black Wide. I got more than one for myself because no matter how hard I try to be careful when I eat noddles or pasta, I get splatters and it's hard to get the stains out. Every spot I see on the bib is a stain I avoided on my clothes. I didn't realize. There is one in my car, at home and at work. Spares are for when some are washed I can grab another. I ordered the Wide, so it covers my lap completely going side to side. These are longer than the others sold out there to cover your legs when sitting like a lap napkin. The pockets catch food if you stand up so it doesn't hit the floor or if you want to carry something in the pocket. The back side is waterproof. The velcro attaches more to the side on the shoulder, so the back of your neck doesn't get scratched with the velcro. I tried several kinds out there and this one is the best. Wide width isn't too large, it only covers more area width-wise, which is what you want. I am 5'9' and am thin. I didn't want a narrow bib. I was after the coverage in the width and length. You can even wear this when cooking.

Update (Dec 2, 2019): So it's been a little under a year and a half, and the bibs are still going strong with daily use and cleaning (using the method described below). Their color has become dull, and the crumb pockets have become sad and droopy, but the bib fabric and water-resistant backing have held up fantastic (no rips, etc). The Velcro that holds these bibs on your person has worn out though so they barely stick (on both bibs that we have). And on one of the bibs, the threads holding the Velcro to the bib have started to come apart. Not a big deal though: I should be able to replace the Velcro on both bibs even with my limited sewing ability. These bibs are an absolute tremendous value, and I continue to highly recommend them. Original review: These bibs are some of the best purchases I've ever made. Bought them for my handicapped dad who's a very messy eater. For years we've either gone without any kind of bib or with homemade bibs using some clips, twine, and regular terry towels. Unfortunately, this lead to routine nightmares come laundry time since the thick, caked-on food had to be peeled off his clothes and towels before throwing them in the washer (otherwise you'd wind up with food particles all over everything else). For the longest time, I didn't bother looking into real bibs solely because I assumed I'd run into the same problem of having to peel off caked-on food from them before throwing them in the wash. But that's not the case with these bibs at all. The bib's fabric is absorbent enough to hold spilled food and liquid in place (so they don't run onto pants or the floor like with plastic bibs), but the fabric is also slick enough to where even dried food comes off easily with water (and doesn't leave stains). My preferred method of cleaning these bibs is to hang them in the back of the shower, and just hit them with pulsing hot water from my handheld shower head. Even with caked-on food, it only takes about a minute for all of the debris to wash/slide off the bibs. Moreover, these bibs are so thin that if left hanging, they'll literally be completely dry within 6-8 hours (don't worry about their thinness as the back of the bibs have a plastic lining to prevent food from seeping through). Then maybe once every month, I throw the rinsed off bibs in the washing machine to get them truly clean and smelling fresh. I love these bibs, and I highly recommend them. They'll save you lots of time and your sanity.

Purchased this for my Mom who is probably 5'4"... Upon arrival, I tried it on myself because it looks so long. And in all honesty, I think it is even too long for me and I am 6'4". Sure longer means more coverage, but it also means that the crumb-catcher (the pocket at the bottom) lays flat across one's lap making it difficult for it to catch crumbs unless you open it up and hand sweep the crumbs into it. Also, the description offers that "spills are ABSORBED but don't PENETRATE..." I am more inclined to agree with the latter but not sure I am buying the former. I suspect anything more than a tablespoon of liquid will roll off of it and go unabsorbed. I am giving it to her this coming Sunday and will update this review if I notice any difference than what I described here.

This was purchased a year ago for my dad who has a disability. Its been washed a lot since, and it's still in great shape! The length is nice and the adjustable velcro on the neck. I hope to see them for sale again. We need more!
