Replacement Damper Motor Actuator for Honeywell ARD ZD M847D 2 Wire Spring Motor RZ3-1MNormally Ships Same Day

I haven't been using this for long but installation was as easy as the standard items from Honeywell. My wiring was orange and brown instead of orange and yellow, but I matched the orange wires and the yellow to brown and everything worked perfectly. I've had my home for 7 years now and this is the second unit I've had to replace. Hopefully this one lasts substantially longer. This version doesn't come with options to hold the unit slightly open, but they have a solution for that as well.

My HVAC had two Honeywell M847D damper actuators. They had lasted about 12 years (I oiled them about 5 years ago) when last week I noticed the air conditioning was cooling the house unevenly. Investigating, I found the actuators stuck. I unstuck them but found both had teeth missing in the large gear, so neither would reliably control the damper anymore.I'm glad I found these RZ3-1M replacement units. They arrived 3 days faster than the estimated delivery date. Initially, I was concerned that the shorter hex head threaded bolt it came with would be a problem, so I replaced it with the longer bolt from the Honeywell unit. However, when I went to install them, I found the shorter bolt was actually the better choice, so I put them back. With the shorter bolt my Allen key wrench just fit over the top side of the unit and could tighten or untighten the bolt.The instruction manual provided was very useful. They also come with a 24V troubleshooting LED that can be used to check that the actuator is receiving power. I didn't need it, but did try it out to confirm they worked. Could be handy in the future.The units installed in just a couple of minutes and worked immediately. The home was back to normal cooling shortly after.The unit appears well made, came with good instructions, was easy to install and worked out of the box. I with every repair project went this smoothly!

Excellent product! Well made and easy to install. I had previously purchased two Honeywell products which failed over a few years. I am hoping this product with metal gears will have a longer life!

easy to install perfect replacement for my m847d my original motor lasted 15 years then the spring inside broke and chewed up the plastic gear.took me 10 minutes to install thanks

Used in place of Honeywell zone 1st damper motor works well. The rod that holds motor from spinning should be a little longer barely long enough to go in hole of damper box. But it does go in enough to work. This motor seems higher quality than original

Works great! Wire color match the original Honeywell unit. Easy to install. It took about 15 minutes to complete entire job, including climb up and down the ladder to make sure the air coming out of the vents correctly. This unit doesn't have any setting adjustment, so it is either close or open (90 degree angle swing).

High quality replacement, slightly reduced price but with metal gears. And they ship good and fast. I found I was not getting air-flow from time to time when my AC kicked on. In the TX summer, it's very noticeable. Checking out my system, I found my powered ducts had failed closed. closer inspections showed the Honeywell damper controller had flattened the plastic gears in the box. So I duct taped the duct open while I looked for replacements and priced an AC guy. After a quote for a 500+ dollars, or 300 just for the part from them, I found this option on amazon. The install took me 10 minutes, most of that was just me testing it with my smart app. If you have ever swapped a light switch, this install is just as easy. They even include good instructions and testing tools to help identify if you need to swap wiring. Highly recommend.
