Sugar 'N Spice Premium Freeze-Dried Herbs & Spices, Strong Aroma and Fresh Flavor (Red Onion, 0.49 Ounce (Pack of 1))

This was pretty good but if I re-hydrated it there wasn’t much flavor to it but just dropping it in when cooking, especially in sauces, it was much better. First purchased April 2019 and the 1oz about was 6-bucks (same as now) with free ship. I went to buy another one today and though the price was the same they wanted over 5-bucks to ship it so perhaps going back to real garlic is the better option but this is really is not worth the additional expense. There are other brands for less and have free ship. There’s about 10–20 cloves in a single garlic bulb and this has an equivalent of 40 large cloves so that comes out to about 3 average size bulbs for under 2-bucks worth of garlic at the store. The listing states that “2 teaspoon freeze-dried garlic equals 1 tablespoon fresh chopped garlic” so you do use less but the cost of fresh is still much less. As much as I hate messing with the fresh cloves I’d rather just add some to my garden and my neighbor is already doing about a bushel a year so I know it grows well in the high desert. I had no reason not to buy this again other than the added cost for shipping and the fact that it doesn’t have much of a taste when re-hydrated. It’s a convenience item and if you like garlic you’ll use less of the freeze dried than the fresh. I never did try it in anything that wasn’t cooked…like a salad.

I purchased both this and a jar of grated ginger. The grated ginger also had sugar in it. It was mush in a jar and the added water and sugar diluted the flavor. This is straight up ginger. It melts into whatever I am cooking and gives a great ginger flavor. If you hate grating ginger as much as I do, do yourself a favor and try this. You won't be sorry.

The freeze dried cilantro is better than dehydrated cilantro but still not very good. Tastes more like freeze dried parsley than anything else. Disappointed.

I use this in saute etc to add ginger flavor. Does the trick, which surprised me because chewing on the dry bits was super lifeless. BTW I'm not a freak for chewing on ginger as a snack, which these are NOT good for. Basically I was hoping it was like Gormet Garden's "Lightly Dried" Ginger which is a perfect PERK ME UP when chewed by the pinch. This is too dry and flavorless when dry, but does work to put in oil to get the flavors out.

I freely admit that I didn't do my research on this particular item. I was trying to find a way around NOT going to the grocery store with the current surge in COVID-19 in our area. I had a good laugh when I saw the jar. I have vitamin bottles bigger than this jar! Until they come down on the price or offer a larger jar for the current price, I obviously won't be buying this product again.

taste good looks more natural, I believe is expensive for small plastic bottle. The reason I kept it 3 reasons taste good. appearance looks natural and I needed badly. You need to think about what you really want quality or quantity. I want quality even though is expensive. I have gone to store to check the price, of coarse another brand and almost the same quantity, was 2. 99 dlls. but like I said I keep it because of high quality on its flavor and natural

This item is very handy if you don't have garlic. It is very fresh and has the beautiful aroma, but the delivery took almost three weeks..
