WOW!

I orginally purchased an EPSON ET-7750. I had to return it in the second month to be replaced. After another 10 months it went out again. This time I had had enough and just replaced it with this. OMG, I am kicking myself for not getting this in the first place. Super crisp, vibrant photos, Stickers and more. Images look great on paper and vinyl. You get two drivers to use instead of one, and the canon print studio pro is amzing. I use print studio pro with adobe and corel products, as well as Canon Photo Professional 4. Cant say enough good about this.

Printer was dead on arrival

The printer I ordered was dead on arrival. It wouldn't power up. When I contacted the seller about an exchange his response was to contact Canon. Fortunately for me, Canon was willing to exchange the printer (they didn't have to since I bought it on Amazon).Given this seller's lack of care or customer service, I won't purchase from them again.

I have never loathed an inanimate object more

This printer is the one thing in the world that can consistently send me into a rage. I've owned one for three years and here are just a few of the fun 'quirks' of this hunk of junk:- Runs through ink like nobody's business. You WILL have to replace an ink cartridge every single time you use it. Enjoy throwing that money away.- it will always print *just slightly* off center. In which direction will be completely random, so you can't adjust for it!- randomly it will just decide to ignore your paper size and print something a full half-inch off center. I have redo the entire printer profile to make it stop.- will not run anything thicker than thin photo paper without forcing you to hand feed it sheet by sheet. Lots of fun when you have tons of time to waste!- will tell you it needs ink refilled and then when you open it it randomly won't move the inks out to the middle so you can actually replace them- will tell you the wrong print tray and give you error messages for the wrong tray- for some reason I cannot send a file to this printer without it being horizontally formatted or the printer will just print the entire thing completely off center- customer service DOES NOT ACTUALLY EXIST. They send you to a forum where you usually get crickets for answersThe ONLY praise I will give this printer is the the print quality is usually clear. If you manage to get past it's many MANY hurdles. I don't understand how Canon can get away with creating something this godawful.

Canon PRO-100

Just picked up a brand new PRO-100. It replaced my Pro9000 that I had for 15 years. It did have an error when I first turned it on but after a reset it is working great. Awesome printer.

Good Prints But Uses Lots of Ink

How I wish Canon had continued with the i9900! This Pixma Pro is huge, heavy and temperamental. It is not very user friendly. My i9900 you could feed paper into as needed; this one won't operate if the paper feed lid is up. Then it goes through this tedious cleaning process, spitting out the sheet of paper! This matters to me, because I like to do two-sided printed, flipping the paper over quickly and feed it in, which with the i9900 wouldn't stop the whole process. It takes FOREVER to warm up! As with many of the new printers, it has the electronic ink sensors and will refuse to operate once the sensor decides 'low ink.' As many know, its a racket to force more ink purchases. My old Canons one could just tell it to print- over-riding what the printer 'thought', and gee, surprising how many more prints I could get on a supposedly empty cartridge! With those sensors, however, I don't think you can refill the cartridge once that light goes on (I could be wrong though). It goes through ink cartridges very quickly. I have printed less than 100 photographic sheets and had to replace multiple cartridges. This is not a new model, and I had read many reviews of it before purchasing, so not sure why there are no reviews listed now. The only reason I bought it was that it WILL work with an older MAC/operating system (Leopard 10.5.4). It does put out beautiful prints. I could never get it to do full-bleed prints, or to find the menu that supposedly lets you print proofs/lower resolution prints, or just black & white. I never installed the tray for making CD labels so I can't comment on whether that works well or not. I like that it actually comes with software (so I didn't have to put the old MAC online). The printer 'didn't like' me not loading the full package though. I have PhotoShop and didn't want the printer deciding how to alter my files!

Great! /s

If you like to just sit around clicking Support Code Cancel Print buttons this is your printer! This stupid thing complains when any one of 8 inks "runs low" despite never being used. It complains when paper is "not the right width" when it is, in fact, the exact correct width. It complains when paper "jams" because it fails to pull 5x7 fully inside and gives up immediately. It complains when any flap is misaligned, despite needing those flaps open to manually push said 5x7 inside so the rollers actually grab it and work. My wife can't see it on her Mac. My Linux computer tries so hard but no. Windows only. It drags ink, bleeds ink, generally makes a mess of things. Can you get a decent picture out of it? How good are you at drawing with crayons? My god if I could go back in time.
