SolRX MINERAL+ SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen with Zinc Oxide – Reef Safe, Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB Protection, Water Resistant Sunblock for Face & Body

I’m a redhead, fair skinnered. I spend a lot of time outdoors — kids sports, surfing, etc. This is the only sunscreen I’ve found that will 100% keep me from burning for long periods of time without reapplication. If I’m not getting wet I can wear this all day without reapplying. If I’m getting wet it depends on how much I’m rubbing my face as to how often (if at all) I need to reapply. It’s not 100% mineral. It leaves me with a bit of a greasy sheen so I don’t use it when going out if I care about that (eg a downtown day out on the town). I’ll use this on my face/neck/hands/etc then something else if needed on other parts of the body because it goes on thick and is expensive. I love this stuff.

It protects well but is greasier than I would have liked. When I first opened the package it was greasier than when I got toward the bottom of the tube. I found you have to shake it vigorously and often to try to cut down on the greasy factor. However, despite this, it still protects from the sun very well and does not seem to clog my pores.

This product is thick without being oily and greasy. It's also very white so you can see where it is during application. It does take a few minutes to seep into the skin so I make sure to pat it in and wait before stepping outside. I think it works because I haven't noticed any increase in sun damage but I have been using it during the winter months. Definitely recommend and will continue purchasing.

I believe this product might have some trace nickel in it because I broke out and am allergic to nickel. I'm not sure what else would be causing the allergic reaction. I gave it 3 stars because my bonus boys use it, and it works well with their skin. It does stay white on the skin unless rubbed in very well.

We first learned about this product at a kids triathlon. My VERY fair skinned daughter wanted to be sure she wouldn’t get burned during a 5k open water swim so we tested it out. Best performing waterproof sunscreen for athletes.

We have used this product for a trip to the local water park and at the golf course. First was at the water park, the sun screen was applied hours prior to arrival and lasted. We were there 12p to 5p (high UV) and came home sun burn free!! Next was golf, where my 10yo is taking 2 hour class (9a to 11a) and my 5yo and I go to the playground. Again, we came home sunburn free!! My 10yo and I have loved using this product!! My 5yo says it burns and prefers the blue SolRX sun screen. He tends to be more sensitive, so I think what he feels is burning is actually just me rubbing it on because he always seems fine as soon as I am done. The texture of this one is not as creamy as the other. I will continue to purchase SolRX sun screens!!
