GP621 - Piano Repertoire: Romantic & 20th Century, Level 1

I have been using this piano book to teach my piano students. This piano book is an outstanding collection for entry level piano students who are ready to move beyond basic method books into more expressive repertoire. The pieces are short, engaging, and thoughtfully leveled, making them perfect for developing phrasing. The layout is clean and easy to read, and the progression feels natural and confidence-building. My students enjoy learning music that sounds "grown up" while still being completely manageable at this level. It is an excellent resource for lessons, recitals, and building a strong musical foundation. Highly recommend for teachers and parents alike.

Adult piano learner here. I have gotten 2 of the preparatory level books and now 2 of the level one books from Keith Snell. They provide short manageable pieces (1/2 - 2 pages long) that are just right to give me lots of variety and practice. I like that they are by well-known composers through the years. These books are great to keep a practice session moving since there are lots of pieces on about the same level. The books were recommended to me by a music and piano teacher friend and I have been very pleased!

Challenging repertoire without being too frustrating to learn. Love this book, highly recommend it.

I'm not a fan of Kjos editions, I would double check these against Alfred masterworks or Schirmer if you can, but I do like the assortment of music and composers for students.

Perfect for beginner.

The is the perfect book for a late in life piano student. The book was recommended by my piano teacher and we both are pleased with the level of the songs.
