SCHLAGEFB50 V FLA 505 605 Single Cylinder Deadbolt and Keyed Entry Flair Lever, Bright Brass

I did find I was unable to align the new deadbolt with the new striker so that the bolt action was smooth. It takes some force to engage lock the door, and there doesn't appear to be a way to easy the action. We will live with it and hope it wears in a little.

I have 40 years experience renovating homes, with the last 28 of those years owning a home improvement company. I always preferred Schlage locks over all others in that price range, and even installed them throughout my home. I recently replaced my basement door and purchased this set (to match the rest of my house). I couldn't be more disappointed at the massive drop in quality since the last time I installed a Schlage lever lock like this. The finish is cheap and the release button to switch the lever handling was seized, so I couldn't switch the handles. Thank goodness this was for my house and not a customer. I sent a note to the seller, but didn't hear back. Since I tossed the packing, I can't return it. So, now I will buy another set, but it won't be Schlage.

Not as pictured. The one pictured is the ‘old’ Schlage with the key off center towards the bottom which is what I needed. The current model and one shipped has the key in the center which means it cannot replace the old schlage. Cannibalized some of it for parts but ultimately had to hunt down an old schlage from the dusty back shelf of my local hardware store. Would been helpful to have the actual item pictured vs the outdated picture which is not what you get.

Took awhile to adapt the deadbolt for my application but looks and works great. It came exa tly as described.

The feature that allows you to lock the handle and still get out is great! Also, typical Schlage quality, and easy to install.
