Leather Knife Sheath/Case Made To Fit Buck Selkirk 863

Sheath arrived promptly. Was very good quality and great craftsmanship. Fit and finish were excellent. My Selkirk knife had good retention in the sheath and I am completely satisfied with my purchase.When I arrived home from the post office I began wet forming it to my knife and vacuum sealed it to get it done quickly and effectively. It will require another 24 hours to finish air drying then I will recondition the leather with mink oil and a coat of bees 🐝 wax.I thought the color was beautiful as it came to me, naturally wet forming darkened the color somewhat, which is fine. I expect the sheath to fit more snuggly on my belt after molding it this way, as well as have a bit more retention.( The retention was just fine out of the box BTW) Though tightening the loop thru the molding process will allow me to insert the OEM Ferro rod above the sheath inside the loop itself while carrying my Bushcraft knife scout style. Increased retention allows me to wear my knife while rappelling with itI handle a service 🐕‍🦺 animal 24/7 so having this beautiful leather sheath scout carry configuration is very helpful. While adding a traditional, heirloom quality aesthetic.I own a variety of different style blades and axes that have both leather and kydex sheath options. We're outside often, I prefer leather, being old school I cannot help but cringe thinking what would happen if a plastic sheath broke while in the field. Perhaps causing the loss of my essential fixed blade, at the least becoming a hassle.Prefer having confidence in my kit and enjoying the fact that properly maintained it will last longer than necessary.Outstanding product.

This sheath was very well made and looked great. The Buck Selkirk fit perfectly and stayed secure. I give this sheath five stars. The maker even sent a hand written note in the package thanking me for the purchase.I felt bad returning this sheath it was perfect exactly what I wanted and expected. It even fit well on my belt.The Buck Selkirk was returned and I did not have a use for the custom made sheath anymore.Sorry for the return it was not due to anything wrong with the sheath.

Great value, excellent fit and finish, good quality sheath that has solid retention but ease of access. Second time purchasing from Carl, would definitely recommend.

Bought this as a gift for brother in law. I love it and ordered one for myself too. It is for a specific knife keep that in mind.

I wore this for two's days straight. I have had this Buck knife for 3 years or so...and never wore it, this sheath is comfortable and held the knife as intended through a whole day of cutting wood and moving branches...love it. Looks great too. only 4 stars because I'm not sure over time how long the sheath will hold knife securely in sheath...I hope for ever.

Well, it's a horizontal sheath for the small of the back. I could not get the knife to stay in the sheath. As a result I don't use it. The leather was quality and the construction was good. I just couldn't get it to perform fir me.

The Sheath is well made and the perfect size for both the Selkirk 0863(larger version) and the 0853(smaller version) fixed blades. The smaller version fits snuggly with about 1 inch of exposed handle. This is not a great thing for retrieving the knife, especially if you are using it regularly. However for me this is perfect since I only use my fixed blades for field dressing and skinning out game, the Low profile of the sheath and the lack of extruding bits makes it ease to keep out of the way in the field but still have the knife on me. The larger version fits a bit more snug and the handle comes out a bit more making it fit and feel like a tradition sheath fo carry. Over all I am very happy with the sheath and have bought 2 of them. The makes even rights a note and hand signs it when you buy one. I had the first one I bough laser engraved with a name and the knife model, the sheath has plenty of room for personalization and the leather is the perfect thickness for such things as well. the Lager of the Selkirks comes with a fire starter and this sheath doesn't have an holder for it. Also sorry but not going to post a picture of the customized sheath due to the last name on it( it was for a friend)
