Q: So...if im hearing correct, a maui quilt is made in china, bypasses hi 2 be shipped 2 cali, but requires spec handling so cant be shipped to hi why?

No but it’s warm. Haven’t washed it yet.

Q: Is there any grey in this quilt?

I would say No Grey, but there is a light color that is kind of blue or green that could be taken for grey. We have two of these, one on our bed, one in our camper and have had them for a few years. Wife likes them because of the beach type pattern. She is a professional quilter but likes this because of the weight and pattern. Quality has proven to be good
